greenslw, that's fabulous! 1 week further along!!! Glad you've got sports drinks now. They'll help a lot more. When I start getting dizzy from drinking too much water (even not preg!) I have to resort to sports drinks and elecrolyte drinks.
Greenslw - Congrats on the scan result Definitely go the sports drink if you have been sick or Gastrolye powder is good too, you want to replace not just the water but also the electrolytes you've lost. WTH has had gastro not so long ago, hopefully she will also pop in with some hints for you. I hope you feel a bit better soon. BTW, I found the sports drinks to be good when I had M/S, settled my tummy a little.
Smallfry - Congrats on your BFP and good luck for your BT. I didn't have it so much this time, but with DD I was making endless loo trips to pee Its quite normal and should go in several weeks time.
Meredith - So glad to hear you are plodding along, at least that means you aren't having any dramas! I know how you feel about the heavy and no energy unfortunately, its exactly how I feel now
Hi everyone else, hope you are all doing well
AFM, had my 32 wk ob appt today and all is looking great! I have found out the reason for my dizziness, which is the only problem I really have ATM, and it is low blood pressure - 95/55 for those in the know pretty low according to my ob. So at least I have an answer and our bub is in no danger, it just means that I will have to take it easy for the next couple of months.
Greenslw - wow, I'd love to be a week ahead than I thought!!!! Glad your scan went well and you have special pics to cherish and obsess over!
Megsmum - what is blood pressure supposed to be when you are pregnant? mines always between 120-130/90. Is that normal? The midwife and ob never mention anything about it, its just written on my card.
Meredith - do you think you'll be having the baby early?
Megsmum sorry you feel so run down. Glad you got an answer from your ob, and that it means you have even more of a reason for taking things easy. But wow! Not long till you will get to meet your bubba!
Meredith Glad you're still plodding along. Gee, from the first contraction to the last, you're going to have had the longest labour ever. Glad to hear that Upsy's going strong, and sounds like he's growing well too.
Smallfryplus Yay! Congratulations! Wishing you a smooth and boring pregnancy lol and that the constant peeing is the only excitement.
Greenslw so wonderful that bubba is growing well and strong! Hope you're feeling better after that nasty gastro.
AFM I told people at work today, and my manager announced it to the team and ppl clapped, etc. After spending so long hiding it, and still wanting monkey to be our precious secret, it was weird to have it announced. Really exposing, but good, like ripping a bandaid off fast.
On the weekend, DH agreed to come try out some slings with me, which I was very excited about. That is the only baby thing that I've been able to bring myself to thing about buying. I was really surprised that DH wanted to look through all the baby stuff, cos he's been really reluctant to just go look at slings. I still don't really feel ready to go out and plan a nursery or even anything small like buy a pair of socks.
I'm trying really hard to be more relaxed about things but am so afraid of things going wrong again. Really really looking forward to being able to feel bubba move.
Smallfry - CONGRATULATIONS! Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.
Pash - Congratulations on telling your workmates, not be long now and you will feel bubs.
Megsmum - Yay for 32 weeks, glad your app went well, my bp is low too 96/55.
Greenslw - Yay for being further along, glad everything is going well
Erybery - Hope everything is going well for you
Meredith - Know what you mean about feeling heavy, feel like bump is much bigger than was with DD.
Big to WTH,Hannah,Lee,Theresa,Easha and anyone else ive missed
AFM - Everything going fine, appart from uti but on course of antibiotics for that. Seeing midwife today for 25 week check. Just wondering if anyone has had or is having VBAC?
thanks for all the welcomes I'm sure I'll get to know everyone in coming months Is anyone else in the feb 2010 due thread? I fit into the second half of the month but am sitting in the first half cos there's only one other person in my proper thread and we're both waiting for more people to join!! lol
heading to the doc shortly (DH organised to leave work early and come with me!) and have also called hospitals and booked a couple tours. One of them told me I had to book in before I'm 6 weeks!!!!!? I mean, unless you're actively trying (which clearly all of us understand) most women don't know they're pg at 6 weeks do they?!!!! Oh well. Prob won't go there cos I was much happier with the friendliness and helpfulness of one of the others so we'll see.
Pash - it's such a good thing to see you in here. A couple weeks ago I saw your blog listed somewhere, perhaps in the tww journals section, I forget now, (pg brain, honest!) and I read through it and felt so sad to see the pain you had gone through. Seeing you in here made me feel that universal justice has been done!! Really happy to know you're going well now!
Megsmum - glad your Ob appointment went well. Like you, I have low BP - has ranged between 95/55 - 105/55 during this PG. It definitely can make you light-headed. Glad you are going to take it easy
Meredith - Hello plodder Doing the same and YES! Definitely getting fatter by the minute. I have put on more than 6.5kgs since 10 weeks. Loving showing off my big mama belly in public, though I am finding the maternity fashion a bit daggy (and the Winter wear cold - everything seems to be 3/4 sleeves). DD STILL doesn't know. She has attended every appointment, including the fortnightly US. I guess because she went to so many in the past and they did not amount to anything, she has no expectations (we did not tell her about the other PG's either). She definitely has noticed my belly, but has not put 2+2 together.
Smallfryplus - WOOO HOOO! So glad you are joining us
Greenslw - Great news about the US - and the bonus of being ahead a week. So
Chappas - can't help you with the VBAC - looks like I will be having my first CS! Sorry about the UTI - they can be really painful. Hope the antibiotics have kicked in quickly for you.
Erybery - me too on the weeing. I must have gone 5 times last night (that's gotta be a record). My li'l one must be tapdancing on my bladder, too!
Pash - I can understand how telling your workmates was a bit of a mixed blessing. Exciting, but at the same time, maybe making you feel a little vulnerable. I have felt the same way about sharing my news. I will let you know the kicks make all the difference. I am no longer using my doppler daily. Hope you feel your bubba soon
to Theresa, Hannah, Lee, Easha - hope I have not missed anyone!
AFM - Had a busy week. US last Tuesday to check my cervix - continues to measure the same. Saw my Ob on Friday and he said if it continued to measure the same at the next two US (twice a month), that he would be satisfied the cervix would be classified as low risk. for that outcome. He also confirmed it would be in my best interest to have an elective CS, due to previous 3rd and 4th degree tearing from the forceps delivery of DD. He does not want to risk the very likely chance I would tear again. So I am booked in at 39+3 days... October 13th. Don't much like the number 13, but what can you do ? Then today I had my pre-admission interview with the private hospy. The nurse was great and I am feeling a little reassured I might have a more enjoyable birthing experience this time round.
Oh my goodness, I have been so slack about posting lately have had a bit of 3rd tri tiredness setting in.......but here goes anyway!
WTH - No worries, same goes here of course
erybery - GL with the BFing class, hope you find it helpful.
pash - I can think of a number of things it could be, low BP, low iron...but I think you've had them all checked from memory (which is not all that good ATM LOL) and they were OK? I know someone who's MS came back in the 3rd tri and it was low iron, and the day I had my egg collection for IVF I had a puke which the nurse said was probably due to my low BP. Don't how much help all this is really, but I would speak to your midwife if you are worried, that's what she's there for Good on you for buying some stuff too!
Karen - I haven't had the huge comments so much this time around, but OMG I got them from everyone when I was pg with DD. Such a wonderful thing to say to a first time mother who is already worried about the size of her baby - NOT! And I'm getting the sore shoulder thing now too, mostly at night and I'm pretty sure just from sleeping on my side. Don't know that you can do much about it TBH....
Greenslw - Hope the M/S is not too bad, but having said that I understand how reassuring it is too! GL for your scan next week, I've got one the same day
Easha - Yep getting sore hips now too, especially at night. I'd talk to your dr/midwife about the pubic pain, maybe they can send you to a physio like Meredith said. I hope you can manage to find somewhere to live soon!
Meredith - I agree with WTH, at least your ob is getting prepared with the steroids, better to have a plan in place than just deal with things haphazardly after the fact. And hopefully you won't even have to worry about having Upsy prematurely either! GL with it all and hope they don't knock you around any more than you are already being
Lee - Glad to heat the BT results came back good!
buliej - Good to see you in here! Hopefully it will be for good soon
chappas - *waves*
And hi to anyone else I've missed, hope you're well!
AFM, well like I said above feeling pretty weary lately. Sleeping is a bit of a challenge with all the aches and pains and I'm feeling very beached whale-like even though I reckon I'm not as big this time as I was with DD. We also spent the weekend organising the nursery which didn't help the tiredness, poor DH did most of it of course and was moving all this furniture around and trying to get the new stuff into the house and unpacked. I heard some swear words that I haven't heard for a while LOL! Just have the cradle to put together now though and I'm having my last haircut and colour this weekend before bub arrives so that should be nice too. I have my last scan next Mon so hoping that goes well and trying not to stress too much despite the occasional moment of paranoia
Wow this thread is getting big now! Takes me all morning to catch up with the posts.
Megs Hope everything goes well with your scan on monday I know what you mean about stressing. Sometimes I think it would be better not to see the obgyn so much. I am fine after the appointment but the day before and they day of I am a total mess. I just start freaking out that something might be wrong.
buliej You are a very strong lady and I pray that you will get some good news soon.
Greenslw Foodluck with your scan! And as for the MS I know its horrible but it is also a good sign that your hormones are increasing which means the baby is growing.
Easha I know what you mean about the hips. For the last two weeks mine have been keeping me awake at night. I cannot lay on them for more than an hour each side. Poor DH is getting so fustrated cause every hour I am turning in my sleep and cant help but groan from the pain. OB says its just the hips getting ready for labour.
Meredith It sounds like your OB is on top of things and accounting for anything that may happen. I would be re-assured that he/she is thinking ahead and is doing what he can do medically to give your baby the best chance of survival.
WTH I hope everything is going well with your pg! I smile when I see your name in this thread. After eveything you have been through to get here, you finally made it! It's just wonderful!
Lee Great news on the BT results! Congrats.
Sorry to everybody else I have missed my brain only works for so long now and even then its not the best.
AFM: The 1st growth scan I had the baby was in the 15 - 25 percentile but I had my second growth scan yesterday and the baby is measuring in the 10th percentile which is on the small side. His weight is approx 5.3lbs but got 8/8 for his health. The placenta appears to be working normally and enough fluid. OB says he is just small. But after everything I have been through to get here I cant help but to worry and stress. OB has sent me for weekly stress test monitering at the hospital on the baby and has booked me in to be induced on the 15th July. (39 weeks). I pray that everything will be fine and that he is healthy.
Seems like we are all getting big and fat now. I seem to also have started a trend with achy hips and pelvis.
At least everything I am experiencing seems to be normal given all your accounts.
Still have not found a place to live although we have narrowed it down to 2 places. DH and I seems to be at odds each liking the other one but we will see both together tomorrow and make a decision - finally - keep your fingers crosssed we are successful.
Had doc appt today and all is good. No diabetes and bloods all good.
7 weeks of work to go but 100 weeks of work to complete - why is work getting more stressful, shouldn't I be slowing down???
