Oooh, lots of babies - I'm going to run off and read some BAs!
Melster, perhaps it's a coping mechanism with your Dad so sick as well. You've got a lot going on in your life. I don't know what's worse, I remember going to a palliative care elective when I was studying nursing and after hearing a family member's story of their pall care experience, she asked "how did that make you feel". No one said anything - so I said "jealous". People stared at me like I was insane, but I didn't have that opportunity to say bye to my Dad, he had a massive stroke when I was 19 and died a few days later, but at least I didn't have to watch him be sick for long either. Since then, I just say take every day you spend with the people you love as a gift, tell them you love them and resolve anything that's unresolved. Oh, and from a nurse's perspective, 70 is young!! So it's not fair. It's not fair at any age, and it's very hard. Sorry, you probably didn't ask for my life story, but I think there are positives and negatives of every situation - treasure every day with your Dad and enjoy every kick of bubby. Oh, I'm going to still be here when you're having newborn cuddles too
Forshelby, I'm sorry your birth experience wasn't what you wanted! I'll be interested to read your story when you feel like writing it and telling it for the 100th time. I think your midwives deserve a slapping for not being YOUR advocate when you were in hospital and telling people to leave you alone. At the least they could have asked you if you were willing to talk to a group briefly rather than everyone coming in and bugging you. I hope you're getting some much needed rest and cuddle time with little Axel.
Good luck to all you girls who are getting closer to meeting their little people in person, how exciting
Thanks to you guys for your calming words, I'm still a bit of a nervous wreck, but I'll feel better tomorrow after getting some bt results (there's that positive thinking again). Tomorrow arvo's our early scan too so I've got and everything else crossed too!
Oh my goodness! Beautiful bubs are arriving in the world all over the place! Such an exciting time! Im off to read some BA's!
