:bhcontract::bhcontract::bhcontract: - Sending some contractions your way Forshelby!
Ferrals - Congratulations!!!!
Thinking of you and hope you are having some beautiful, special cuddles right now with baby Ella and you are surrounded by all of your family! I know your Abbi will be there along side of you all to see her baby sister on her 'birth'day xx
-
yayyy thanks tegam!
congrats to the ferrals family! how exciting!!!
mildez - aww your belly is sooooo cute!!!!
-
I just got the most amazing photo of Ella! She is perfect, chubby cheeks and was sucking her finger! Ill let ferrals know of your messages!
-
How beautiful - let her know were all so over the moon for her !!!!
So exciting
-
Whoohoooo! How exciting, she must be having the time of her life. Can't believe labour started naturally though, obviously Ella knew she was coming today :)
Mildez, that's a gorgeous photo - I did chuckle at it looking like a breast... My belly button was an outtie from not far in :( Never did go quite back to normal!
-
Mildez- Awesome pic!!! Whatca perfect belly :)
T-Hopes- LOL how spooky, when you sent me those contraction vibes I was out walking with my sister and having pains! All quiet again tho now. Dang.
Tegam- Send Ferrals and DH my most heartfelt congratulations! I could just cry with happiness and envy lol.
Everyone else- keep sending me those vibes!! I thought maybe if I put fresh sheets on the bed that would sufficiently tempt fate. LOL I felt a bit sick last night and this morning, and have had a touch of what I can only call 'the shakes'. Still having slight spotting and losing more plug. I wonder how much there can possibly be?!
-
Ferrals - congratluations on the safe arrival of your darling little princess Ella - what a way to enter the world, surrounded by the love of many and a very special big sister. Thinking of you and your family at this joyous time.
T Hopes - PML - those contraction vibes are the best! Well done.
Foshelby - just remember, that plug is one of the things that helped keep your darling snug inside..... yay for it coming out, but hoping it was a bit faster for you. Good work on more pain. Not sure about the shakes at this stage, have you eaten? I know all about them in transition. And Yay for feelng a bit sick. Good idea to change those sheets - just think they'll be all nice and fresh when you get back from hossy. Not long now... though I know it seems like an eternity.
Ha - well I did stay away from the computer for a little bit... ( remember my promise Reet? ) I did wash up, and hang out some washing and bring some in, and put some away, and make up some sweet potato puree and play with Hannah for 2 hours, and feed her, and change her, and sing to her. Besides in my defense I am stalking to see how Ferrals and Forshelby are going.....
-
congratulations ferrals....so happy for u. Hope ur doing ok..hugs

Mildez love the belly so beautiful
Hi Melster how are you feeling?
34 weeks today!
-
Ferrals - HUGE CONGRATS DARL! WELCOME TO THE WORLD LITTLE ELLA!
Forshelby - Sending you lots of labour vibes darl!
Hi everyone else!
afm - Just stopping in quickly.
I had my scheduled monitoring today, bub is doing good, only measuring 4 days ahead, 3/5 engaged, estimated head circumference was 30.6cm, estimated weight was 7pd 9, still anterior, still likes to move her body from one side to the other - current favourite side is the left hand side and man does she kick the crud out of me!
Had an internal, I'm 1-2cm dilated already (I've never dilated on my own without the aid of drugs before, so this is a HUGE thing for me :) ), OB did a s&s, lost a bit of blood-streaked plug in the hour afterwards, but nothing since, which isn't suprising since I've been losing it bit-by-bit for the past week & a half.
Had a few painful BH's since the s&s, but nothing regular and they're approx 30mins-1hour apart.
OB has booked me in for more monitoring on wednesday next week, and I'm booked in for March 30th for the OB to break my waters if I haven't already popped by then.
So it's still all good for me to go ahead with my VBAC, would love it if all you wonderful ladies could send me some good strong dilation & labour vibes!
Hope everyone is going well!
-
Dory - Not sure what the shakes were about either. I'd just pigged out on pepperoni pizza beforehand. I'm trying to just tell myself every day I wait is a day close to holding my baby, but wow, I'm feeling so impatient right now! I was thinking if I changed the bed sheets maybe my wates would break tonight. LOL that's usually my kind of luck.
Kellie - Lol@ the romantic dinner idea. It's worth a shot!
Jenna - No! You can't have any labour vibes because I'm hogging them all. LOL j/k hun. I am insanely jealous that you're dialating already. At this rate you'll be meeting your baby before me! :)
AFM - Sometimes I forget how much can change in a generation. Today my mum asked me what the point is of waiting till 42 weeks before I'll agree to induction. :o I think her exact words were "whats the point of waiting if you have to be induced anyway?" I found that comment really stupid. How will I know if bub was going to come on his or her own if I jump at the first chance of intervention? I just asked her if she'd ever faced the prospect of induction, and she said no. I said "then that explains why you don't understand. I want to give bubby the best chance at coming in their own time. And I want to avoid drugs and interventions." She seemed surprised. I think her ignorant remarks come mostly from being impatient, and completely uninterested in natural birth. In her day you laid on your back and took the drugs. I think she's having trouble getting her head around my desire to do this MY way. I don't really think she knows me as an adult at all. She still thinks of me as the spoilt impatient teenager I was, and seemed really shocked that I would endure another week or more of this discomfort for the sake of bubby. Kinda sad she thinks so little of me actually, and knows so little about me.
Aaaaanyway, COME ON BABY!!! lol
-
forshelby - we all know you're doing exactly the right thing. She may not fully understand the processes and dangers of induction. Much more betterer for bubs to come at its own time. I was induced with DS (I had complications though pre-birth), had to be continuously monitored which meant no shower or bath for pain relief, no labour at home, no calm experience of it all as when labour happened it was full on from the beginning. Then DS was distressed and we had an emergency c/s. In the long run now I know that it doesn't matter how they get out as long as you're both happy and healthy in the long run, there is NO WAY I could love him more if he'd come out my lady parts, but it makes a huge difference to your experience and your recovery.
Stick to your guns, maybe try induction acupuncture? I've heard it helps your body get ready for labour. You'll meet your baby very soon!
-
Hey girls!
I got my :bfp: this morning so I guess I can join you all in here :) Have also joined a BB group for the late November one :) So excited and very nervous, going to be hard trying to keep quiet cos I just wanna yell it out to the world but after losing my angel its best to wait until the 12 weeks is up and bub is healthy!
Look forward to getting to know you girls...We are moving house on Monday so if I go quiet its due to having no internet, I hope they don't take long with getting it up and running!!
lots of :stickyvibesgirl: and belly rubs to you all xoxox
-
hi mummydeb! welcome! congrats on your bfp!
the girls are so wonderful in this group, you will love it! x
heres to a happy and healthy pregnancy!
p.s any news forshelby???????? come onnnnn baby!!
-
Welcome MummyDeb!!! And a HUGE congratulations on your BFP!!! Wishing you a very happy & healthy pregnancy! :D
-
WBM - I agree 100%. I'm really counting on water for pain relief, and don't know how I would cope without it. If I need to be induced in the end, I'll grit my teeth and do it but it's really not what I want. I would try accupuncture, but money is so tight right now I don't even know where next weeks rent will come from. This is due to the stupid doctor who booked me in for induction without any testing, or medical reason other than she saw I had diabetes. She didn't bother to note it is under control and VERY mild. So DP took days off work, thinking he would need to as bubby was definitely coming last week. :( No paid leave either. So now he's back at work and I'm back to waiting at home for it to happen Arrgh! Stupid dr cost us half a weeks pay!
Welcome, mummydeb and congratulations :)
Everyone else - No news. Still pg. Feeling sore and tired but hanging in there so bubby can have the best birth I can give him/her.
-
Oh and can I just add that I'm so unimoressed with this hospital so far, I've been jerked around from the beginning. Can't believe they would waste my time booking an induction despite knowing I'm not dialated, or effaced, and baby is not engaged. I wonder how many poor women have had to have a cs because of this dr making such stupid decisions!!!!
ok rant over
-
What a silly doctor! Even though my Ob didn't want me going too far over (because of said complications), he monitored me every day or two and wasn't going to induce until my cervix was favourable - I love him. Pity about the $, especially losing half a week's pay. Just remember 42 weeks is still full term, and you can go a bit past that if you want.
Oh, I've since found out that if you say to them "I elect to not have continuous monitoring, you can do intermittent monitoring only" they sorta hafta abide by you. I've never done it, but it'd be worth it! Sending you dilation vibes... C'mon cervix... lol
-
Ooh, I didn't know I could refuse the continuous monitoring, thanks! I'll push them as far as I can hehe :) Thanks for the dialation vibes too, lol
-
Got a text from ferrals early this morning, she said that she has had complications from the surgery and has an infection. She is in a lot of pain and is still needing strong morphine. She has been placed on antibiotics but nothing seems to be helping much at the moment. She is in a lot of pain and cant hold or feed Ella at the moment. I said id keep everyone here up todate and that i hope she gets better soon!
The poor poor thing :(
-
poor ferrals! thanks for updating us tegam!
forshelby - poor you i bet u r getting over it :(
dh has been hungover all day so far asleep on the floor, boring day!
-
im so proud of you forshelby!
-
Well I'm joining you ladies in here too.
Got my BFP on Monday & the HPT line is now nice & strong so trying to be positive.
Look forward to sharing this journey with you lovely ladies & just sprinkling around some
extra sticky vibes for the nervous nellies of us in the group.
BBL for proper persies :)
-
Alish - I'm over the pain and discomfort, but still loving being pg for the most part.
Tegam - aww thank you, it really is hard work, all this waiting. It helps to know I have the support of women like you.
I hope Ferrals is feeling much better soon. Poor darling.
Mummytotwo - Welcome!!
AFM - I'm confused. What are real labour ctx meant to feel like?? I've been having a tightening sensation low in my tummy for hours now. It starts out like period pain, then feels all tight, then back to period pain. The pain is in my back also (nothing new about that!) So far they're coming every 10 to 15 mins apart. I thought the pain was meant to be higher up?? Also sometimes while moving around I'm getting what I can only describe as a sharp pinchy feeling near my cervix. Sometimes its so strong it makes me jump, or stop what I'm doing. Is this it???? Please, just lie if you have to and tell me it is, lol! I won't be mad!
-
forshelby i promise you early labour will DO YOUR HEAD IN! the best advice EVER is to totally ignore anything that doesnt make you bend over and want to go to hospital! Pre labour can ark up and then end, if you get too sick of it take some panadol and got to bed or have a bath. Real labour will keep going, dont listen to people tell you to got for a walk or anything, you will just end up tired and easy bait when the hospital offer another induction!
Have strength for you and your baby! I promise you i understand what you are going thru and you will be so much happier if you stick up for yourself now!
-
Argh! lol. Well it isn't the kind of pain that makes me want to go to hospital, no. It is more painful and regular than it has been though so that can only be good. Yay for early labour! It's better than no labour at all :)
-
:crossfingers: forshelby!! I hope it eventuates into real labour soon. Take Tegam's advice though, see if you can get some rest and relaxation, and hopefully some sleep in - if you wind up in full blown labour, hopefully you'll be well rested.
Welcome mummytotwo - so excited to be sharing this journey with you :) I'll be in the nervous nellie group with you for a while!
Tegam, I hope ferrals heals quickly and they can get her feeding bubs again soon. healing vibes her way!
-
forshelby......im not sure with the whole labor thing because i was induced and also had an epidural.....but i would say if there not painful enough to make u want to run to hospital then maybe its not time...but maybe ur getting really close. Maybe its the start hopefully
ferrals......oh u poor thing...i hope u fight the infection and feel better soon....hope ella is doing great
welcomed mummydeb and mummytotwo.........happy and healthy nine months to you both....were all here for you and have loads of encouragement and advise....
Hey everyone else...
Bubby kicked hubby tonight which was nice....i saw my gfriend today who is due the same time to me...she is tiny compared to me and she sent a text later saying she was jeolous because she said i looked lovely pregnant and she looked fat...........i thought that was so nice.....the lovely pregnant bit lol.....apparently we have to pay the ex 20000.00 over the next two yrs.......can u believe that.............we cant......so we will be fighting it tooth and nail...........not much else to report except im tired..........
-
Ferrals: :leap: Congratulations to you and your family on the arrival of Ella! Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can enjoy cuddles and feeds with her ASAP.
Forshelby: I had a similar experience with my labour with DD: lost my mucous plug over a couple of days and then woke up one morning with mild period-type pain. I had mild regular contractions every 5- 10 minutes for quite a few hours before they got more uncomfortable (DH and I played Trivial pursuit for a while and i had a bath)! Apart from a check up in hospital after about 12hours i was home for 24 hours before I went in to hospital to labour. I hope your pre-labour doesn't go on for too long but I hope you can make yourself comfortable at home for as long as possible. Sending you very positive labour vibes.
JennaJayen: Positive labour vibes to you too!
Welcome to the thread MummyDeb and Mummytotwo. How lovely, we now have a batch of three newbies!
It felt like such a long wait to get my BFP and then another loooong wait to get to 12weeks but then I look at my ticker and can't believe i'm 17 weeks already! Three more weeks till 20wk scan. Can't wait. I've popped a bit this week: I'm finally starting to look pregnant instead of just fat!
-
Welcome to MummyDeb and MummytoTwo - two BFP's yay!
Possums - yay for popping and reaching 17 weeks.
Ferals - hang in their darl, it's not easy but you'll get there. And that photo of Ella, she is divine!
Forshelby - sounds like things are not too far away at all for you.
Jenna - you too - god work on dialation and FX for VBAC. 38 weeks! That is awesome, not long now and you'll be holding your little purple girl.
-
Thanks for the advice, ladies :)
So far not much change. I had 4 ctx at 10mins apart, still not difficult to manage. Since then I had a couple more at 15mins, and just niw a rather strong and long (almost a minute) one 5mins after the previous milder one. So still fairly irregular, pain is totally manageable so I'm preparing myself for this to go on for days yet. The good news is they haven't stopped in 8 hours, despite eating, moving around, having a shower and lying down.
I haven't said anything to DP through all of it, just quietly monitoring the timing of it and hoping it picks up some more. I figure it can't be anything significant if he doesn't notice, lol. Just getting another tightening sensation at 10mins since the last one, so there's no real pattern, and its clearly not stopping me concentrating on what I'm doing. Hopefully all of this is my body warming up and my cervix thinning and dialating nicely before the real hardcore labour starts.
Please stick around, pain! lol
-
Ahhhhhhh!!! So exciting! Hope your doing well forshelby! Can't wait for your BA!
-
more dilation vibes forshelby! Go you labour you. Thank you for the updates - I have no idea what this labour is like, so I really appreciate the blow by blow - hope you're regular 5 minutely soon :) And that DH notices!
-
Well I woke up this morning ready to punch someone. This is really wearing me down. Nothing happened except for another uncomfortable nights sleep, broken 6 or more times for toilet trips. My back is getting so sore I feel like I need to do something to relieve the pain but am too tired and worn out to move. I'm such a complainy pants this morning lol.
My pelvis is getting sore, and I'm just so irritable! On the plus side, when I do have a pain its worse now, but still too far apart. The dog jumped on my belly and I yelled at the poor little bugger
Keep sending me those vibes, girls, before I really do punch someone lol. Oh and I hold the official record in my family for longest pregnancy. RESPECT!! lol
-
Forshelby - it's looking better and better... and go on you for just getting on with it.... it's a very personal time and it's nice that you're just peacefully going with it. But having said that, bring it on!
-
Teagam~ thank you for updating us on ferrals
Ferrals~ i hope you startfeeling better I am sorry your having problems
Forshelby~ Pizza made my water broke i was fine until i had pizza.
-
Forshelby you are doing so well! This is one of the hardest times in you life to keep your head! Yes everything you body is doing is helping! Stay calm, stay focused! You can do this :)
-
Ferrals - remembering Abii today and Celebrating the arrival of little Ella.
Forshelby - I agree with T, you can do this!!!
Inia's Mum - almost 12 weeks yay!
-
Just got and sms update from ferrals:
She is doing much better, seems that she went the night with little to no pain relief! The ward staff thought she has a spinal so her PCA was taken away!! OMG the pain management people came and said sorry but OMG what a night for her. She is much better today, is up but feels like she has been hit by a truck! What a super strong women she is to have been thru that!
Thank you for reminding me dory that it is Abbis day today! Beautiful girl you did such a good job watching over your mummy and baby sister Ella!
-
Thanks girls, I think I'd go crazy without you all hehehe.
Having ctx 10 mins apart again. Definitely more ouchy, but I'm still able to work through them without making a peep. This is one marathon pre/early labour!! 6days is just crazy. Maybe I can turn this into an extreme sport? lol. At least I can still laugh.
DP is doing the laundry atm, bless him. He gave the dog his bath for me too last night and is about to vacuum. Nesting? Haha. Our friends are coming over later on so hopefully they'll be the distraction I need. I'd say they're our best friends. A married couple our age. I used to work with the guy, and DP still does. His wife is just lovely tho, and I really enjoy her company. They would have to be the only people I would want around at a time like this. I'd have to be dying to say no don't come over lol.
Will keep you all posted! Thanks for letting me ramble about myself for a week too, lol.
