Melster-37 weeks is classed as full term i had my DS3 at 36 weeks 6 days and Ella was a c section at 38 weeks both bubs perfectly healthy.

T-Hopes just had her bub at 37 weeks c section no problems.

Why is your doctor giving you steroids when bubs would be only 18 days early (2 weeks 4 days) seems a bit extreme to me i was in hospital with placenta previa bleeding at 37 weeks and they said no need for steroids as they are pretty much useless after 36 weeks and very painful so i didnt have any.
I think i would lean towards my own doctor doing the c section early when it wouldnt end up an emergency so then you could have skin to skin and bond ect but if you want to go naturally you risk going into labour when your doctor is not here.

But me also having 4 natural births and 1 c section i totally understand your wanting to try for a natural birth it is a hard decision but just remeber bub will be fine a little early if she is a good size and it has been a healthy pregnancy.

    hey all -

melster - sorry i have no advice for you, this being my first i have no idea whats going on or what i want! ferrals always has good advice so listen to her

bec - no good about the cyst, lets hope it dosent cause you too much pain

does this mean everyone is leaving this thread? i hope you pop back in and say hi from time to time!

my pains have gone now so i think it was just stretching! i found a little stretch mark on my belly the other night, boo i was really hoping i wasnt going to get them.. ive been putting bio oil & coconut butter on everyday! oh well im just glad there is a baby in there finally!

hello to everyone, belly rubs and hope youre well xx

bec - I had a cyst this pg, was convinced it was ectopic! It was a 5cm cyst. My Ob said they go one of two ways, they either explode or implode. If they explode you get severe pain, perhaps needing an emergency trip, and it will last 12-24 hours (not much you can do - apparently heat packs help), if it implodes (mine did) you get less severe pain but for much longer - even at 12 weeks, it was still 1.5cm. My Ob could feel it on palpating my abdo at 6 weeks - I think it was when he felt it that it started to implode because that HURT! (He didn't know it was there until he felt it - lol, poor guy.) I hope it's not too painful for you - at least you know it's not another ectopic!

Melster - I had an emergency cs with DS and all my advice has been that there is no reason I can't VBAC - but every situation is different. My Ob is happy for me not to schedule a cs until 42 weeks. Did you go into early labour last time? If it's unlikely, I'd be holding off on scheduling a cs until after he gets back - but then as ferrals said, 37 weeks is full term. They can put baby on your chest as soon as its born, you can have baby with you in recovery etc if it's planned, it's easier to manage these things. Find out the hospital's policies on these sort of things and discuss them with your Ob. Might also be worth talking to some girls in the VBAC threads - there is even a thread for women who attempt and don't get a VBAC and their feelings about it all. There's all sorts of wisdom on here But I think you go with what feels right to you - doesn't matter in the end how the baby gets out as long as you're both healthy!

alish - stretch marks are boo but better than anything going wrong!

angel - can't wait to hear your results today! Let us know soon...

Reet - glad to hear things are going well for you! What a gorgeous name for your little girl

Acupuncture went well, but I was pretty sore last night - feel ok today though! I've got a couple of needles that stay in for a few days over my right sacroiliac joint. Hope they do the trick. If not - I'm off to the chiro for some massage and adjustment next week! It's DH's birthday today - he's my age again (he says today is the saddest day of the year) - he's had his birthday presents and gone to work. Now I have to make a chocolate ripple cake and a meat pie from scratch - why oh why did I volunteer to do that???

actually it wouldnt even be three weeks...its a bit less. im not sure he gave my cousin two shots of steriods before her csections as well...it is away for 11 days i think and comes back 6 days before my due date......wish i had a crystal ball........lol.............she said to talk to him the next app and ill be 36 weeks...she said he is pretty flexible if i change my mind and cant decide...everythings leaning towards ending up having to have a csection anyways.......im not against csections but i wanted my body to naturally go into labour......but if i dont at least try im wondering if i will regret it........i just want do whats best and safest for bubs..........and i really do want my ob. I didnt get him last time and i spend all this money.....i even dreamt about it last night

wannabe...is all ur pain from an accident or pregnancy? Happy bday dh....i am the same..i always make hubby and bacon and egg pie with pastry from scratch..actually two or three..he loves it

alish.....yeah it sounds like stretching..i had alot more pains in my first pregnancy.....i cant believe u have 15 weeks

    angelfish.....oh u poor thing...it must have been such a drag.....not long now....im praying for u....

Hey reet....good to hear from u....mum always used to laugh at me when i was on my phone bfeeding.....i got quiet good att it....

Bit of both Melster - I'm a nurse and have hurt my back a couple of times - so underlying weakness, particularly around the sacroiliac joints (where the sacrum meets the pelvis). Last pg, around 23 weeks it turned into complete pelvic instability and had me off my feet for a couple of weeks (then I got a blood clot in my lung - pulmonary embolus). This time the trouble started around 8 weeks and it wont go away until about 6 weeks after baby's born, so it's maintaining the function and staying mobile - another PE would be bad! And see me back on horrible, daily injections and a cs.
Kindergym with DS was fun this morning - he had a good time, but I was in serious pain! *sigh* I hope we can keep going.

Sounds like you've got some thinking to do re the cs - can you ask him what the concern is of you going past due to go into labour naturally? And why are the other obs anti-VBAC? They all have different opinions don't they!

Alish-stretchmarks (i was told) tend to be hereditary so if your mum/sisters had them then unfortunetly you are more likely to get them my mum/sister did not get any and neither did i after 5 pregnancies except for my boobs i got the silver lines when my milk came in and i used baldings olive oil everyday and i cant see a thing they are so faint.
My poor GF got them on her belly, arms and backs of her legs really bad and used coconut oil and bio oil and you can only see hers when in certain light but they have faded pretty well also.

Angelfish-congratz hun maybe bub will show on NYE.

I finally post my horrible birth story if anyone is interested in having a stickybeak.

Melster - sorry to hear Dad is being more confused. I think the stress of the situation could add to his confusion.

Angelfish - so pleased to hear about your new pregnancy. How is your partner handling it. I know he was initially quite shocked.

AFM - I have been quiet on here lately as we decided to go ahead with the amnio and it has taken an agonising 3 weeks to get the results. Everything came back normal (which the OB did try and keep telling me would be the case) so I can finally relax. Until tomorrow when I will know doubt find something else to stress about.

Melster - I hope the confusion is temporary Good luck with the appointment!

India's Mum - that's great news on it coming back clear - knowledge is power yeah?

Busy at work here - Monday/Tuesday are nutty. Pain was BAD yesterday, but slept with a pillow between my legs last night so my right leg didn't feel like it was falling off a cliff and I slept from 10-4 without waking, then mostly through to 6. I feel heaps better. I did take some drugs last night too so that probably helped

    Morning ladies...

Well i could keep everything alive on here with my post and jabbering but you would get pretty bored of me lol lol

Dad had his appointment and it was pretty useless really....there is something about his dr that erks me....he is a great surgeon and dr, one of the best apparently but its his mannerism. I cant quiet get what it is about him but i dont like him..he is not a talker and hard to approach and kinda looks at you like you're stupid sometimes..but then sometimes he laughs etc..............i dont know how to explain it......

Anyways you try and ask him questions and he keeps saying that he just doesnt know how long dad has, were getting ahead of ourselves and he is not GOD...he doesnt have G on his head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think he may have an L on there instead lol lol....... that its a day to day thing etc and we will go back and see him after his MRI which i think will be in a month..so were no closer to knowing whats going on......just that when the tumor comes back we will see a gradual deteriation not a sudden one...

ATM.....well i am still deciding whether to have this c-section or not and its driving me completely bonkers..im getting more confused by the minute...and no closer to a decision...............................and this hb....MGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was up all night last night and think i threw up about 10 times

Alish....dont you hate when you do that...it drives me insane..hope you're doing ok...hows the house stuff coming

Wannabemum...yeah i was the same i had to sleep with a pillow in between my legs....my leg goes numb now so i have to keep swapping sides and i get heaps of pins and needles

    Cheshire...how you feeling? thankyou

Indias mum.....i hope you're feeling more settled now...im so glad all the results came back great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know there is always something to worry about or think about..hopefully you can have a few days were you relax..

Hey everyone else..hope all the mummies are doing well

Indines mom yeah on the good results i hope it helps to calm the nerves down

Melster~ I dont know how you do it.You have so much on your plate. But i remmber when i was pregnat with Honor towards the end i had hb like that it would make me want to get sick. But i dont know if there is any truth to the whole bad hb and a full head of hair but she was born with a full head. I too am going to have to chose a c~section or regualar birth but more then likely a c~section since i got pregnat so soon after having a c~section

AFM~ Were i live summer has hit tommorow 90 degrees and no ac like i have said in past post we are staying with my bf parents and no ac last year i guess i was spoiled in having it. But i still have lil signs of being pregnat i used the doppler yes i know early but i found a 150 bpm hr for a min then it disapeared .
