Ohhh Tegam I hope everything is OK. I have a compact bump too, but my measurments have always been OK. In fact, my bump is still so compact that yesterday, a guy (who I'd met for the first time) said "Wow. You're having a baby?" and sort of stared into space, like he was really shocked. It was hilarious!
The winds are great for drying washing, but wreaking havoc with my hair, which is only just long enough for a ponytail!

fshelby - heartburn thing, may or may not be true. Who cares? I love old wives tales, I think they're fun. I am knitting, but badly! I'm much better at sewing and dressmaking.

Reet - I am only 7.5 weeks. I've been too scared to make a ticker in case I jinx myself. After all we've been through, I'm reluctant to get ahead of myself and make the come down harder if things go wrong.

A quick question, I've had morning sickness for about three weeks now, no break from it. I've just felt seedy all day, and been sick most days. As horrible as it is, it's somewhat reassuring. Today though, nothing, nothing at all. I'm afraid as I have some cramps in my belly (which I've had on and off since falling pregnant) but they seem worse today. I'm having loads of trouble trying to calm myself down. Has anybody else had morning sickness that stopped instantly?

sorry for the ramble, I'm beside myself with worry, and we've not told anybody about this pregnancy, so I feel somewhat alone & afraid.

kmm my MS did exactly the same thing. Just vanished for a few days around the 8week mark. It vanished for 3days and came back for a day only to vanish again, come back, vansih again etc. It was very worrying for me also. My 13week scan showed bub is still going along nicely. Even now at 14.5weeks I have a weeks break only for it to come back suddenly for a few hours. I am also still cramping and having shooting pains up the vag and ovaries. And I am still worried lol.

Audax - LOL I love that you associate the weather with the state of your hair. I am exactly the same. I look outside before I decide whether to straighten my hair or what.. hehehe. I'm glad I'm not the only one knitting! Grandma was very impressed when I whipped out my knitting, she said 'Oh I love to see things made by hand, it's lovely'. She asked me if knitting is still 'fashionable' lol. And I agree, old wives tales are fun!

Kmm- Hun, I understand how hard it is to take the leap and make a ticker, but honestly I don't think a loss would be any easier if you were to look back and say 'oh at least I didn't make a ticker'. I say enjoy this pg every day that it lasts, whether it only be fleeting or for the long haul. Try to focus on the here and now and just love your baby as best you can. Don't panic about the ms disappearing. Mine 'disappeared' about a dozen times, only to reappear with a vengeance at the worst possible moments. Enjoy the break from feeling terrible while you can. The cramping is fairly normal too, I still get that feeling on and off now, it's just things growing and accomodating baby. As long as you have no bleeding, no severe painful cramping in the centre of your abdomen, all should be a-ok. Are your bbs still tender?? That is if they were to begin with. Perhaps your multivitamin is helping you not to feel so seedy... I think the B vitamins are supposed to help with that. It's ok to feel afraid, but remember you're never alone as long as we're all here, hun! Put your feet up, have a hot chocolate or something soothing, and go to your happy place.

Mildez - Oh, I had the shooting pains too... freaked me right out for a while there but nothing has come of it. I think you're doing just fine.

AFM - Well I definitely look pg now. My belly sticks out further than my boobage (and I have ample boobage, LOL) and I'm looking soooo round. It's great. When DP's cousins came to see us while we're in the city they all said 'WOW! Look at you!' I know that's the polite way of saying 'your belly is big' LOL. Last night I had my first major disco party (or tantrum) in my tummy going on, and DP says he thought he felt something from the outside when we were cuddling in bed last night. How exciting is that.

kmm~ my ms would come and go. And i would also get cramps but like someone else said i got told it was from things growing to accodate the baby.I am at 24 weeks now and i still have not made a ticker for myself either i am to scared to dont know why

You only look outside? I need to check two forecasts AND the BOM radar! Caring less and less as I get more and more pregnant though! Great news about your internal disco party! I am getting hiccups nearly very day at the moment; it is adorable. At the scan on Thursday, baby was breathing away the whole time, and I guess that's why.

kmm - yes, my m/s subsided at 8 weeks, I saw my doc, who was so very understanding. Turned out it was nothing, just a couple of days respite before Welcome to Spewtown, population me. I was already on weekly hCG and progesterone tests though, and had had a scan, so there wasn't much else to do anyway. Fingers crossed for you!

kmm: I had the same thing with my pregnancy, slight cramping from about 6wks ended just after , was freaking out, as we all do.. Then my morning sickness eased up one morning, as I didn't want a scan early on (my first pregancy I started to m/c the day after my first scan, which was an internal and I felt scared that if I had another internal I would m/c again) I had BT done to check my HCG levels until I was further along I was terrifed something was wrong, so I panic for oh about 3 hours then all of a suddren a massive waive of naseau came and I had my head down a toilet for the next few hours.... I had morning sickness all day everyday for 16weeks, some days you feel great in the morning then horrible in the afternoon.. Try to relax, take a bath, or go for a walk... Hope everything turns out fine, and you end up with your head in the toilet :-) hehehe....

It feels so nice to get a chance to pop in and catch up on how everyone is going... and see those tickers advancing.

KMM - I am with Forshelby - you can't jinx yourself and once you make a ticker it is so so very cool to see it moving along... glad to hear your MS is giving you a break. Enjoy it while you can - it will be back. I know it's hard not to worry about everything... I just had a really really long pregnancy after 4 successive losses and I too was worried about jinxing myself and the same things you are. ( well it was normal length but felt really long as I was on modified bed rest from 7 weeks - a bit like Forshelby - plenty of time to post! LOL) . But the thing that helped me through was trying to embrace the moment and just be thankful for that moment - and in the end all those moments managed to string together into a 40 week preg. I just hope the same for you.

Tegam - how are you? I am no where near as overwhelmed as I was ( phew), but still have our little individual who does not like to be settled or go to sleep but sleeps like a trouper once asleep. Hannah s 25 days old today, and I haven't been just teary for no reason since day 17... seems ages ago. I appreciate all the help you've given me. I have kept some of your txts to remind myself of the positive things you've said.

HLP - good to catch up briefly. How is Audrey going? She's about 2 weeks older than Hannah.

Audax - your bump is as individual as you and def. not a sign of bubs size and health. I hardly showed until late in the preg and little Hannah was born 10 pounds/ 4.5kgs and healthy as can be. Just let all that stuff slide. And way cool - 41 days to go! yay! When you were snoopd - did you go to Japan or was that someone else? Really making my baby brain work hard to retrieve that bit of info.

Hi dory! Look at you go! I'm glad that my ticker is updating for you - here it is a bit stuck, and sitting on 49 days to go. Which could well be the case - who knows?! I love it. It's actually great having a compact bump. I feel like I've missed out on a lot of the aches and pains that go with having a large mass of me hanging out over my pelvis. I still fit into heaps of regular clothes, and I've managed to stay really active the whole way through. Baby was 2.4kg EFW on Thursday, so should be a reasonably good size. And with hair!
Yes I did go to Japan, from Christmas Day 09 - 13 Jan 10. It was the best best best thing in the world. I am so glad we got to make that trip.

I second living in every golden moment (as golden as they seem not to be in those first weeks) I have just found that this pregnancy gets better and better with every minute it ticks along, and right now I am loving it so much. Feel the love!
