*TMI* Alert! 26 weeks & horrible pains.

As most people say... You'd think I'd know by now seeings as it's my third!!

So during my last 2 pregnancies I've become constipated. Last time I had horrible horrible cramps/pains but after a couple of hours it was pretty much all over & I was feeling fine again except for a bit of a tender tummy.

This morning I had my coffee & started having these horrid cramps. I tried to go to the loo but no luck. I went a few minutes later & had success but it was soft. Not like a "normal" constipated one is. So this has been on & off throughout the day. Horrible cramps where I don't want anyone to talk to me. I've been to the toilet a number of times & have had soft poo but still these horrid cramps. I'm now resting on the couch but am having slight tightenings. I checked my cervix before & it's high and closed but feels a bit softer than I expected. Little bubba is happy & kicking away in there. So not overly sure what to do. I feel like an idiot if I call my midwife.

Not sure what my point to this post is really?!

You are never an idiot for calling a midwife about concerns. If you are at all concerned, it is much better to go and get checked then to sit there and worry.

i agree with little chicken - if you're worried or even just unsure, give your m/w a call. im pretty sure they get lots of calls with people who are concerned - when i was at the hospital i heard a m/w explaining to someone on the phone that what they'd seen/experienced was their show. she was being friendly & patient.

how are your water works? maybe the pains are from that?

I found that I got/get really uncomfortable and felt tight in the tummy, would last for a few hours and then I would go poo and be all better (not getting those pains etc.. when I wasn't pg). so could just be constipation, but I would call and chat to them though.

*TMI* Alert! 26 weeks & horrible pains.

I ended up calling not long after I posted. The midwife wasn't worried & thinks it sounds like my muscles are having spasms. So told me to rest up, take Panadol & use my heat pack. Its still happening but the kids haven't long been in bed so have just been able to rest now! She said to call if anything changes but hopefully it settles down overnight. Thanks girls
