Amniocentesis, can anyone recommend a good Dr in Sydney?

Hi Girls,

I am 41 years old and I have elected to have an amniocentesis because of my age. I was wandering if any anyone could recommend a good Dr in Sydney.

I went through the fetal medicine unit at royal north shore i have had a CVS and Amnio with my last pregnancy and a CVS and Amnio with this pregnancy they do them every day and the professor is really nice give them a call and see if you can get a referral from your GP to see them.

I had mine done at Sydney Ultrasound for Women by Dr Fergus Scott. You can google him as he has lots of reports and papers on studies that he has been involved in with regards to Amnio and CVS. I had my procedure done at the Liverpool rooms but if you call them they can tell you where Dr Scott works from as he works out of a couple of branches and SUFW has branches located all over the place.

I can say that normally you see a genetic councellor before the procedure but I asked to meet directly with the Dr and it was no problem. (I had already had an amnio about a year before so I knew a little about both procedures) He spent alot of time with us and answered every question I had. He was very calm and professional. He made the procedure as easy as possible (I elected to have the CVS because you can get it done sooner) and he had a great bedside manner.

I had a CVS done at penrith ultrasound for women and the doc was fantastic! I also had genetic counselling as well. I had CVS and not an amnio so i could know sooner.
