Oh how I can relate to this topic of converstion and isn't it enough to do your head in!!
On top of having an anterior placenta I have too much amniotic fluid, which basciclly means my little one is bouncing around in the space, so I do not feel much at all...The only thing keeping me going is my frequent Ob visits and specialist ultrasounds (given my history!!)
I hired a doppler, and from 12 weeks have had no problem finding a heartbeat, even given the placental position and excess fluid....it can be very reassuring. I usually check it tin the morning and it lets you start your day without too much worry, if you know bubs is ok.
Take care
