Red face Anyone else noticed a change in... "appetite"????

Well ladies and gents this has been bugging me for some time so its time to post and (hopefully) get a whole lot of "Of course its normal!" type replies!

Since I've been pg I've noticed a distinct drop in my... erm, appetite for the BDing, for want of a better term!

I'm so tired and its getting uncomfy with my belly getting bigger... it just all gets a bit hard... my BBs are so sore by the end of the day... and I just want to go to sleep!

DH loved when we were TTC and it was me who was all over him at the drop of a hat, but now that we are pg, its just not happening like it used to.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there anything I can do to try and bring my enthusiasm back??

It's quite normal, however it didn't hit me until mid third tri. You need to have some early nights (or perhaps some arvos) while you still have some energy and you need to experiment with positions as the usual ones will get less and less comfy the further you get along til you get to the point where you may just not bother at all.

Oh dear, it might get worse????

Right, early to bed for OP and DH... will see if a bit of good sleep will help...

Yeah, it definitely varies for me. In the first tri I thought I would never find my groove again, but thankfully things have been better since.

The watermelon stomach makes for some interesting positions, and the stretchies mean its almost always lights off these days...DH doesn't seem to mind though.

I find the hardest thing is getting in the mood...I never used to take so much persuasion.

I think its best to be open with your partner about it and explain how you're feeling. Then try and drag them to bed at YOUR bedtime (which is really early for poor DH). Its one of those things that I think is important to work on...but it takes some understanding from your partner...don't stress or over-think it. The worst dampner on a woman's drive is her brain! Go with how your body feels and don't be afraid to admit you're finding it tough at the moment.

I wouldn't be too concerned at all
It's quite common for both women and men (believe it or not!) to lose interest in some of the more intimate moments, there are so many variables in pregnancy!

Being bigger, sleepier, more uncomfortable and those blessed hormones raging in all different directions makes it more undesirable for "special cuddles"

Hubby actually became less interested as our last pregnancy progressed, but he insisted that I not be offended - he thought his hormones were perhaps emulating my motherly ones! (He also got a little sympathy morning sickness too!)

Your feelings of desire will pick up again, as mentioned above a good rest would probably help
    Good luck!

Thanks for all your responses... I'm glad I'm not alone. Anna you're probably right about being honest with DH... let's hope we both get lots of sleep and we can start to feel a bit normal again.

Or as normal as one can be at 21wks!

Oh goodness! I'm 18 weeks today and since finding out we were expecting (at about 4 weeks) we have DTD maybe 3 times at most I am totally uninterested and too tired, but the times we have dtd was sort of out of pity for DP Oh well!

They say some women get more interested, but nah I am the same as you, I could take it or leave it most times. But most times I will initiate DTD just so that I know DH is satisfied. I also love the physical touch. I may not get the 'O' happening but I love the closeness its comforting to me and that is more important. I find though that I love my boobs and love showing them off to him and teasing him, that eventually gets me going.
But as some of the other girls have said also. I have noticed DH not as keen for it as he used to me. Like I said I seem to be the one initiating it most times. I am not sure why but I am not worried it kind of takes the pressure of me a bit. but I wont let 3 days go past without some lovin. Like I said I love the physical touch, but its also important to me that he is satisfied!

Make that three times . Puppies, I only ever do it at the moment to make sure DH is satisfied!

Maybe this is TMI and needs to go to AO, but I get kinda annoyed when I say I am tired and not interested in bd, and so DH asks for *that* instead, as if that is less work. Hmmpf!

Puppies I know exactly what you mean... the physical closeness is very important to DH as well. He gets really down if we go too long...

Maybe I should institute the three-day rule too... that would make tonight the night!

I'm going to pilates, so maybe that will release some good hormones for me!

Oscar I know what you mean too! With the other thing
