Hi
a couple of times during this pg i've had strange sensations across my belly, the best way to describe it is like someone had stretched a wide rubber band across it from the top of the bump to my pubic bone then snapped it against my tummy! It's not overly painful, but gives me quite a start with no lasting effects. It happens out of the blue, last night when i was just sitting there!
Anyone had this, or know what it is? i never had it in any other pgs
TIA
so is it on the skin surface or deeper? is it when you're moving or just randomly?
I've been getting a sort of sore skin around my belly button that sometimes hurts when I move. I figured it was just stretched tender skin.
I have also had some stinging a bit deeper when I move, which I assumed was tendons or even my stomach muscles separating.
My Ob said "you'll feel a hundred strange things that you've never felt before and unless you're in labour or bleeding, they're all normal!"
that could be it Heaven, it is on the inside, but doesn't feel like it's in my uterus IYKWIM, just happens suddenly and i haven't been moving when it's happened, just standing or sitting still.
it's very true Lozzy, you feel all sorts of weird stuff, even tho i've done this before each time is different!
The feeling doesn't make me feel worried, so i hope my intuition would kick in if it was serious! just wondered what it could be as i haven't felt it before
Thanks
It is the stretching of the internal remains of the umbilical cord. We have a couple of veins and nerves in both sides that go from the umbilicus to the sides and from the umbilicus to the pelvic. Because every thing is stretching in our belly they have to stretch too.
As a rule of thumb pain that is like a electricity is nerve related, pain that is like a burning or hot sensation is ligament. Both quite normal during pregnancy.
