    Backpain getting worse

    hi.
is there anyway to reduce backpain.

I have got it very bad up in the middle of my back. prob from the way i slouch in chairs and at the computer.
I cant sit or drive for more than an hour or so, or my back starts aching.
the only way to relieve it is to lie flat on a hard surface, like the carpet or floor.
My bed isnt the best either as i wake up cramped and in pain all the time, but we can afford a new bed.

My back pain is now travelling to my lower back aswell, and its really getting me down

Have you tried a wheat bag that you can heat in the microwave (from chemists etc )

I suffer terribly from a bad back - i feel your pain
Its hard when you are pregnant !

Maybe you could go and see someone that deals with back pain for pregnant women ?

Good luck - i hope you find some relief

PS. This is why it pays to have your nursery organised - you were doing the right thing ! You are organised for a good reason !

My back has been shocking lately too... have you tried having a soak in the bath?

    I feel your pain. Literally.

I have an old dancing injury but also being pregnant y sciatic pain is becoming pretty bad. I second the notion of a wheat bag, hot water bottle or those heat packs. I take one with me to work now. There are some good stretches you can do - yes it is painful but stretching out can help for a bit.
Try to not sit or stand in the one spot for too long get up move around then go back to sitting iykwim. Take some Herron or pandedol.

if all else fails you could see a chiropractor or something they can help also.

I second whatthe other girls have said - i have suffered bad back pain in both pregs... (i also have mild scoliosis and get back pain normally).
go and see a physio or someone and get some good exercises - they helpa lot with stregth and stretching
I have found yoga and swimming both excellent
when you have to sit usea lumbar roll (you can roll up a towel tightly and use it) for support and help with posture - the weight of the baby in front makes posture poor and this really helps
you can also use this lumbar roll to stretch your back - put it on the floor under bra strap line and lie back on it for 5 mins - great stretch before bed or when v sore - it can hurt a little but helps
i have also had acupuncture and cupping - both helped HEAPS - especially the cupping which really really helped with my uppper back pain
light back rubs from your DH and if yoiu can treat yourself to a preg masage now and then do it (go to someone qualified though - the relaxin hormone makes this especially important)
    Hope this helps!

I have been seeing a chiropractor since about 25w of pregnancy for my back pain and since I have been seeing her I haven't had any major problems. My back now only hurts if I do silly things like bend over too much, walk around too long etc. I would recommend finding one, but find one who has lots of experience working with pregnant women.

Otherwise, like the others have said, try wheat packs, getting DH to rub your back and maybe look at getting a body pillow to start supporting your bump and hips as you will eventually find that you can only sleep relatively comfortably on your side.

    thanks ladies.
ill try the wheat bag/hot packs.
I try hot baths and they relieve it, only until i get out but, and then the back pain comes back.
panadol doesnt seem to do enough, and i can have any panadine forte
