You shouldn't take berocca with pregnancy vitamins apparently. I was feeling really exhausted before we went away last year and wanted something to help so I was off to get some but the pharmacist told me not to (still taking Blackmores gold). Berocca themselves also say not to take with pregnancy vitamins. Never got as far as asking my Ob about it cos that seemed enough to not take the risk IYKWIM.
Ohhh I took Berroca the whole way through my pregnancy, with pregnancy vitamins.. Oppsies!
A friend of mine took magnesium citrate supplements through her pregnancy to help with her energy levels, and the fact she was getting lots of muscle cramps, and it really helped her. Maybe got into your chemist or health food shop and see what they can give you?
TBH N2L I never found out. At the time I had DD1 on my shoulder with a temp of 40 and I was going to buy the berocca with her antibiotics. Iz was so sick I just wanted to get her home so didn't bother going into it with the pharmacist. Then went onto the berocca website and did some googling and found more "don't do its" but no reasons why. I ended up getting a vitamin B shot from my GP after Christmas but I didn't notice any real energy boost. I put it down to maybe getting too high a dose of something if you were taking them both. I've since discussed my total lack of energy with my Ob and basically reached the conclusion that I'll feel better in another 3.5 months and in the meantime just have to deal with it.
The reason is so you're not getting too much of various Vit b, especially B6. Too much can cause neural damage. Also, Berocca is full of nasties like additives, preservatives, flavours etc. it tastes yum but so does Red Bull. They're about on par wrt to healthy input.
Look at your iron, B, magnesium & zinc levels. Eat fresh, healthy food, get a good night's sleep, stay away from sugar, get regular exercise... all the good stuff we never do
Eta: The best energy lift in the morning is a green smoothie - so lots of vegies juiced up - and protein. Bacon & eggs, an omelette etc
