A bit scared, can tummy bug hurt baby?

Last night all of a sudden after dinner I had acute cramping all over my abdo. I went straight to the loo and after about 20 minutes and a couple of normal number 2's, the pain finally subsided once water like number 2 came out. Sorry TMI.
I had a warm shower until the hot water ran out and then I feel asleep on the lounge with a heat bag and a couple of Panadol. When I went to bed the cramping was still there but not as bad and I didn't need to go to the loo again.
I woke up this morning so tired. My eyes are so heavy and I just dont feel right. I didn't see any blood so I think baby is alright. But I am still worried that what ever this tummy bug was either food issue or bug that it may have hurt the baby. I was so scared. The cramping was so painful!
I have decided to stay home from work today. My first day off work since becoming pregnant.
I have been very blessed to have a wonderful pregnancy so far. Hardly any issues at all. I still have cramping almost every day just above the pubic bone, but I think this is stretching. I guess I just want to know that tummy bugs or painful situations with your bowel wont hurt the baby. I have been having slow movements for a while now, so I guess what happened last night was quiet a shock.
Although I have heard that having the runs in pregnancy is quiet common. I am sure everything is ok, I just want to be reassured. Its amazing I was in so much pain, but all I could care about was the baby!

Thanks Mel, Wow how are you feeling? What do you do all day, stay close to home etc? How long will they leave you before they give you assistance? Is baby engaged?

I can go over 10 to 14 days then we start talking another c-section. I stay at home but only because I have the monster to take care of too. And nope, baby is not engaged.

Hope you are feeling better today. I know what its like to be vomiting and have the poo poos all too well!!!!
(I had them at 8 weeks, 14 weeks, 26 weeks, 34 weeks and 38 weeks.. at least I'm consistent... )
