LOL, congrats on the pam anderson's.... dont have too much advice on the bra's, will be watching cause I need some advice as well...
I've never been very well endowed (thanks mum!).
My bbs only JUST fit into a 10A at the best of times!
And my mum used to tell us that she made it into a size 12B during breastfeeding, so I defiantely waasn't expecting any sudden movement in that area.
Well holy moley! At christmas I bought a 12B bra, and have been wearing a 12C (Shel's bras lol, couldn't be bothered buying new ones at the rate these babies are growing! And no, they're no underwire!) for the past 2 weeks. I'm in awe! I have been standing in the mirror looking at them wondering where the heck they came from!!!!!! And admiring my cleavage of course! (and the fact that they are round instead of sticking out like cones!!!!!). And trying to wish away the red itchy stretch marks!
A friend told me I should go get sized for a maternity bra, because they're more comfortable and give lots more support than normal bra's, and chances are I've stopped growing for a while anyway.
I thought it was WAAAAAAAAY too early for me to be getting a maternity bra? What do you all think?
Do they really give more support?
And if not a maternity bra, can anyone give me the name of a really good support bra? Because I'm only a small frame and my back and shoulders really hurt as I find I'm slouching unconsciously!
Oh and feel free to congratulate me on my enormous bust. I am really quite impressed with it!
LOL, congrats on the pam anderson's.... dont have too much advice on the bra's, will be watching cause I need some advice as well...
YAY for having BOOBIES!!Makes for a nice change doesn't it!
i think maternity bras are definitely more comfy. Maybe try one and see if you like it. I think the main thing is to wear a comfy bra with no underwire, which you're doing anyway. (maternity bra or not maternity bra).
Wooohoooo!!! Congratulations from another pre-pregnancy small busted lady
I just got myself some maternity bras cos I figured after breastfeeding I'd go back to underwire so no point in getting just regular wire free ones. The only real difference I saw is that they aren't quite a pretty as the regular ones. BUT if you have a hunt you can find some really nice ones. Hot Milk are fantastic, but pretty expensive. I found some funky ones in Best & Less too, Too Sexy by hmmm can't remember & it's in the washing machine, will get back to you![]()
Hi there
I've been wearing Bonds Bumps maternity bras since about 20 weeks. My old bras just weren't cutting the mustard. I got the size I am now and another cup size up and I'm hoping I wont grow too much after I have the bub. They are really comfy and I'm pretty happy with them, although I have a few strappy singlets that I feel funny about wearing now as you can see the clip for opening the cup up - I feel weird about exposing this when I dont even have a baby yet!
I agree about Hot Milk - they have great stuff.
hey leasha, I have read elsewhere that a good sports bra (you can get wirefree) can be just as good.
enjoy your new bbs!!
I got some good nursing bras online at Breakout Bras. (Google it, and it'll come up.) They also carry regular and maternity bras. The prices are decent, and they tell you how (and when, if you are nursing a newborn) to measure yourself to get the correct size. And, some of the bras are actually cute! Who knew a maternity bra could look nice!?!?!? Apparently no one else has figured that out yet! They carry a HUGE range of sizes, which is great, since I can't find anything to fit in a regular store. I was definitely pleased with them.

I would probably get a couple of cheapies at this stage (I got some triumph maternity crops from kmart that were great!) and then spend some more on some really nice maternity ones later on!
Oh, and congrats on the cleavage darl! Lol
Firstly congrats on your new bbs
I got one maternity bra when I was only about 10 weeks as my bbs grew really quickly. I now have a few more - i went from 12c to 14d and now also have one 14dd..... I have found the bonds one give great cleveage - which I missed in the lovable range, and bonds also make a wonderful maternity singlet - which has the inbuilt bra.... I pick these up in the after xmas sales for half price - around $25 so my guess is they are around the $50 mark.
The advice I have been given and will give is go and get fitted..... I went to bras and things and they were great. Also make sure you have some room to grow - in the cup and across the back as you will keep getting bigger YAY!!!
Yay on your new boobies!
I went out and got a maternity bra when I was about 16 weeks pregnant. It felt much nicer to wear a bra that actually fit instead of trying to squeeze my big boobies into my other bras. I just went to Myer and Big W and bought some Bonds maternity bras for about $25 each. Theyre ugly and boring looking, but the do the job. I've also got a Hot Milk and an Elle MAcpherson maternity bra too, which are much prettier but more expensive.
I found my boobies didnt grow much bigger at all after about 18 weeks, until milk came in.
Its not too early for a maternity bra! My boobs seem to grow very very quickly (I am now and E cup and not stoked about it!) and I think they are growing again. I hate maternity bras - I think mine are awful to look at and not very comfortable (yes had it professional fitted I just want my underwire back please) but you should be able to find some funkier ones in a C or D cup.
I am with Sarah - I am returning to the underwire as soon as I stop BF'ing so I figure the mat bras are a useful investment!
Where do you get the bonds materity clothes from, everywhere Ive been that stocks bonds said they dont have it
Aw, congrats on the bb's! Feels so sexy doesn't it?
Why no underwires for breastfeeding? I've had c/d's since I was 13, and now mine are so enormous I feel like I might suffocate sometimes. I just can't imagine going without underwires....
Gratz on the new bb's leasha
I got fitted for a maternity bra at 11 weeks and got a Hot Milk one. Hot Milk are very pretty and sexy. All I had before was underwires and I wanted to get out of them as I've heard underwire can cause mastitis. Once I started wearing the maternity bra I felt soooo much more comfy.
Then at about 18 weeks I bought 2 more mat bras, just plain berlei ones, one in black, the other in skin colour.
I've gone from a 10C to a 12D and my friend said to me the other day "OMG your boobs are huge!!" I probably won't buy another bra until my milk comes in (if I need a new size).
I've seen the bonds ones at Myer and David Jones.
Fantastic to have a cleavage, eh?
I just usually go to a place where they do fittings and get 'sized', then go to Best and Less or Target and get some cheapies. I really like the ones you can get from Target. This might be the way to go as I reckon you might have some more growin' to do!
Just make sure the straps are supportive so yu don't get a sore back or shoulders and there is no seam across the cup as it will irritate your nips!
I got my bonds stuff at DJ's Skittlebub.... they also had maternity tights - 3/4 and full lenght. I couldn't believe how comfy the bra is and the clevage !!! It look like I had my underwire back![]()
The best maternity bras ii found so far were the 'lovable' ones. They're only plain coloured (tan, pink, black, white, pale blue) but they're comfy as. I still prefer my underwire anyway (i went from a 12E - 14G - god knows what!!! im in either a 20E, 18F or 16HH depending on the brand), but we're supposed to stay away from underwires as they're not good for the milk ducts and can cause mastitis (i think - better check with barb on the definites there).
Bellelass: Totally understand where you're coming from re: suffocation.
