    Braxtin Hicks

Ok who has painful Braxtin Hicks contractions at 24 wks ?

I had a few doozie ones yesterday and painful ligament pain as well whilst i was trying to walk back to the car from safeway .... if i didnt know better i would swear labour started with the BH .

Last night in bed my whole tummy was bloody sore and i was moaning in pain at times .... the moans were more out of frustration as a) they hurt b) i couldnt stay asleep c) couldnt get comfy

I'm still yet to work out if what I have been feeling is really BH.

For the last two days I've been getting af like pains at the top of my bump. Mainly only on the right side? It usually last a while.

I have started drinking RLT so don't know if this us encouraging the cramping.

Someone told me BH were like someone putting pressure on your tummy. But like I said mine just feels like af pains? And only on the one side.

Hope someone can offer you and I some advise

OH pregnancy is fun at times hey?

I so hope i dont go realy early with this one..... obviously that is my biggest concern! AS my ds is just on 2 very soon and i had these aches and pains with him BUT they got worse in the week 30s not mid 20s if you know what i mean. He was born at 37 weeks from LMP after i suffered pre term labour two weeks before that .....

Yes I started getting them at about the 20 week mark. AF pains in the lower region and tightning of the belly. As DS was 3 weeks early im beginning to wonder if this one will come early too!? I've heard it's completely normal to get BH after your first child though.
Hope the little one stays in there alot longer for you Bubno.3!

With dd1 I just had the tightening of my belly from about 18 weeks. With dd2 and this time I have af type cramping a sore back and my belly tightens.

I was the same as you, pre term labour at 35 weeks but managed to get to 37. Fingers crossed we both make it further along.

Yep mine started at 16 weeks this pregnancy and 22 weeks with DD who graced us with her early arrival at 33 weeks, hoping we get further this time or we can stop labour should it start.

I can't get comfy when I have them and my belly will go rock hard for up to 1 1/2 hours!

Um just another question, can BH last for over 20 min?

and do you notice less movements when you get them? Baby has been very very quiet today and movements are very gentle

Ok so now my belly has been hard for a few hours. Can this be harmful for the baby? I don't feel many movements but if I lay down I get a few light taps.

Have you been drinking much today Lou? My BH get worse in the evenings and even worse if I haven't had enough to drink. Currently enduring them now and hoping the little one is getting ready to turn out of transverse some time soon!!

How are you feeling this morning Lou? Mine lasted for a few hours on the weekend, I don't feel like many movements either. Try lying down and have a cold sugary drink, juice or coke are the best, then you should be able to feel movement.

My OB said they weren't harmful for baby, that I just keep an eye on the intensity, regularity and frequency of them and if it increases to let her know. But I had times with DD where they just wouldn't go and I could'nt get comfortable.

How are you going this morning?
    Take care xxoo

Ah ladies you are all so sweet to check in on me!

I didnt drink my RLT last night and havent had another BH since! must have been encouraging it, or im just lucky so far! lol

I think i will start the tea again in another week @33weeks just to be safe even though OB did say there was no harm in starting it now.

Michelle, im a terrible water drinker at the best of times so i must start making a point of drinking more anyway, but thanks for the tip.

BR and Bemma how are you two today with the BH?

    xx

I had a revolting time this morning but not with tightenings but with my mood. I feel horrible and yelled and screamed at my 10 yr old about whether or not he brushed his teeth or not, then when i got a little lip i went off some more and more. My ds is 98% placid as they come and usually doesnt fib and if he does i usually dont get upset well i dont go over the top anyway ! I felt so bad as he rode off too school in tears ... so i went to the school and gave him a huge hug and kiss in front of the class and told him i loved him and im sorry i was a crappy mum .. he said thats fine mum and i said no it isnt and im sorry. I left the room and looked back and he was in tears as well ! I left the building and did i cry cry and cry so emotional! Has anyone else had these days ??
BH i have had nothing today thank god....
    cheers xx
