Hello everyone!!how are you all?? I was just wanting to know something about my little girl and her movements..im 20 weeks (yay half way) i have been feeling her movements for about 4 weeks now i can feel her kicking as well now,but i can only feel her still when i lay down flat on my back and occasionally when im sitting down...and i dont really feel her moving that much..is this normal??i feel like this is my first pregnancy cause i have so many questions but i cant remember this stuff from my 1st..lol any opions would help thank you...
i think that's pretty normal, it has only been recently that I feel this little one ALL the time - I think at 20 wks they still have a lot of room to move so you may only feel her when you squash her a bit...
I may not be the best person to answer though as i have anterior placenta so hardly felt a thing at 20 wks!
gee you guys are lucky - I'm 21 weeks and still haven't even felt a flutter regardless of how hard I concentrate! I've got an antenatal appointment tomorrow and so will be good to hear the heartbeat to know that the my little lady is still in there!
hey georgina, with my first pregnancy i felt my first flutter at 20 weeks and didnt feel any actual kicks till probly about 25 weeks but this one i started feeling flutters at 16 weeks,im sure all with be ok with ur little lady
I started feeling flutters at 13 weeks and full kicks since about week 16. I too only get them when i am sitting still as this is when bubs wakes up. Apparantly when you are active and walking around it rocks your baby to sleep which is why we cant feel it as much (at this stage anyway!!). I'm sure it does kick etc when we are walking around but are probably too preoccupied to notice it! hehe

I am 22.5 weeks and still only feel movement (not kicks) when I sit still or lie down. So it doesn't sound so unusual what you are feeling! On ultrasounds the baby moves around a lot but I just can't feel it at this stage. It feels a long way off until the movement can be seen on the outside- I am not sure when this happens.
Hey Tasha,
I didn't feel bubs move alot since a couple of weeks ago. Now I feel him/her all the time. Although when I am running around at work or am busy I don't feel anything, cos this is supposed to rock your baby to sleep. I then get stressed, then have a break, and will start to feel movements.
I have an anterior placenta also which muffles the feelings. Sometimes (earlier on) I could see my tummy moving but couldnt feel anything! Now I can definitely feel it, but mostly around the sides as that is where there is no placenta.
well last night was very exciting - I think I might have felt the baby move for the first time - it was more like gentle thuds rather than flutters or butterflies though - is this likely to be the bubba??
Hi Georgina
I get gentle thuds and flutters and you're a a week ahead of me so I'd say that what you felt was your bubs! How exciting!
Can someone help me out... what is an anterior placenta??
anterior placenta is when the placenta is at the front... i think it is 50/50 chance either way and it is nothing at all to worry about... it does mean movements etc are harder to feel - i didnt get anything til at least 20 wks (but they are prety strong now!! lol)
I think it also depends on the baby as with my first i had a very active boy who wriggled and kicked constantly and I first felt movement around 16 weeks. With my second baby I had a fairly gentle girl and her movements were more like slow stretches and i didn't feel her move much untill she was big enough to overtake my belly LOL. This one I've been feeling movement for a few weeks but it's not an every day thing however it's getting stronger and more often as the weeks go on.
I've got an anterior placenta and am feeling some good kicks and plenty of movement at this stage (I'm 18 weeks today) even though I've got that extra padding in front. I'm wondering if my placenta may have moved upward since my NT scan a number of weeks ago as the kicks are more "feelable". I'm going for the 18-20 week scan this Friday so it will be interesting to see if there are any changes to the positioning of the placenta.
Hey I've got an anterior placenta too - I'm definitely feeling movement now - 22 weeks and 1 day - my hubby even felt it last night as well which was fab!!
I'm getting quite definite kicks now (I'm almost 24 weeks). I've got an anterior placenta too - and I didn't notice the bubble/butterflies stage - didn't feel much until I was getting proper kicks at almost 22 weeks. They are getting strong now - but still generally when I am sitting or lying down.
