Mods - i think this is in the wrong spot but feel free to change it
I'm currently 20 weeks pg with baby 2. So far everything is progressing well. I'm currently booked into Blacktown hospital but am extremely unsatisfied with my experiences to date so far. I didn't even want to go here to start with, I wanted to go back to Westmead where I had DD but they won't allow me as "i'm out of region" though I have a friend who lives like 5km away and she's booked in there to have her 2nd bub.
Anyway, my next door neighbour has her baby at Hawkesbury Hospital and went in as a public patient (which is what I would be). I've heard far more positive stories about Hawkesbury Hospital and am keen to not go to B/Town if I don't have to.
Do you think it would be too late to change hospitals??? I would plead my case to the last degree if i needed to. If I could afford it I would have a homebirth, but unfortunatly it's not an option.
I say change its never too late, there is noting worse than not feeling RIGHT about where you are going to give birth.
I doubt even if you turnd up at your last hospital in labour that they would turn you away???
i a living in the NT and at 38 weeks and 4 days preg i decided i wanted to have my baby back in NSW so i went to hosp for a check up and everything was fine so i rang the John hunter hospital and asked if they would "take" me they said if i can get on a plane then they will take me they just requested i bring as much info from my pregnancy as possible so all bloods, scans etc.
so i jumped on a plane 3 days ago and here i am in NSW waiting to have my baby
sorry this went on a bit but its definately not too late as a public patient a hospital can NOT turn u away they have to take u wether u are booked in or NOT
Worse comes to worse just turn up at your hospital of choice in established labour. They can not refuse you treatment! Who's to say you weren't just in the area?
