I could be wrong, but in my head I'm under the impression that Liver has quite high levels of Vitamin A, which isn't recommended for pg ladies. I know that Pate (which is made from liver) is off the menu , but maybe I'm confusing vit A issues with Listeria issues. .
Studies have shown that a serve of about 28gms of liver will give you enough vitamin A to increase the chance of birth defects by two and a half times.
Sara, please don't fret about it, I'm sure a one-off instance will not do any harm. You wouldn't want to be sitting down to a plate-full every week though!
(Personally, I think "liver=Blergh" but I know some ppl Looooove it!)
