Kell my Dr told me this about Christmas ham, which you'll be happy withIf you buy a whole leg ham with the skin still on & sealed you can slice some of the ham directly under the skin & have that without a problem. The ham is still sealed under the skin so there is little chance for listeria bugs to get into it. If it's a half leg ham it's a bit harder because part of the ham has been exposed creating a greater risk. In that case you can have some, just make sure it's from under the skin & away from the already cut part. Also make sure you get one that has been cryo-vacced in plastic rather than in netting. You can have it cold straight away, but even Christmas night it's best to heat it to hot because the meat would be exposed to the air.
HTH & you can enjoy it on Tuesday. I know I will be!
