You can always try balance it out by eating healthy one day and having some naughty things the next day? At least try with vegies and some salad and say let your naughty things be some hot chips or something?

    Ummm. I craved soap.

    Yep.

    Soap.

I would walk down the laundry/cleaning isle and when I smelt the laundry powder and fabric softener I got this weird urge to eat laundry powder and fabric softener. I once licked the soap in the shower because I just had this overwhelming urge to!!!!! Didn't taste near as good as it smelt to me LOL!

And yes, I also craved fatty unhealthy food. I ate it LOL. I just tried to balance it out with good food when I could stomach it, but up until 14ish weeks, and in the last few weeks, I could barely stomach anything so I just ate when I felt up to eating! Better to eat somethign unhealthy than not eat anything when you're pregnant. Just eat some Subway when you can, nice and healthy!

I would tip the V out though, thats really no good for you or bub.

Noni*e, do you reckon you get the fast food because you crave it or because it's easy? I know when I get takeaway a huge part of the attraction is because I don't have to cook it!
Can you buy some yummy frozen meals or make extra to freeze when you are in a cooking mood?
Or maybe ration things? Allow yourself one takeaway a week, so that you end up saving it for when you really need it? Or only buy yourself a certain amount of junk each week so when it's gone, it's gone til the next week? I know those are things that have worked for us.

Oh Noni I soooo hear you... in my first pregnancy I just craved deep fried food ALL THE TIME.

My suggestion is think about what exactly you're craving, then get it a healthier way, eg if you're craving crunchy saltiness, then try some pretzels or popcorn, if you're craving chocolatty flavour, have a hot chocolate (with real milk) or a small chocolate custard...kwim?

The one thing that always undoes me is when I go on an MSG bender - omg I can't get enough of the stuff - it's in all those yummy things like cheezels and doritos and packet macaroni cheese. Only way I found to get off the MSG is just to go cold turkey. Which prolly isn't what you want to hear LOL.

BTW I think you're amazingly strong resisting the V, I know how you love the stuff.

md - yep i was atleast a can a day woman before getting preg haha!! have been pretty ok without it just the odd day where i feel like i need it lol.. had a nice iced green tea with mango instead, full of sugar too but ohh well!! ohh cold turkey im too scared haha!! im so useless with cooking etc id probably end up never eating hahaha
