Has anyone been told at their ultrasound that they have cysts in their placenta? What are these and what does it mean for bubs?
I am still waiting for doctor to get back to me re this and I am worried. All she would say was they are not uncommon but they usually see them only on one side of the placenta but i have them on both sides so she has to wait for final report from radiographer and then talk to on call ob.
For background info I am 17w1d and had an ultrasound for unexplained (very light) bleeding today. Bubs is fine and all looks otherwise good. Apparently I was having a braxton hicks contraction at time of scan and they could see this on the ultrasound (learn something new everyday).
We got the final report from the doctor. Turns out the cysts are not in the placenta as they told us, but on the babies brain!!! Choroid plexus cysts - don't google it unless you want to scare yourself silly like I did! Most cases they are nothing to worry about and go away by themselves, so fingers crossed that is the case for us also.
