Well I had my 20 weeks ultrasound on Monday and everything seemed ok. Then I had my appt with my OB this morning (this was organised weeks ago). He said that an Echogenic Focus on Jellybean's left ventricle was found. He said that he is not concerned or he would be sending me to have tests etc, he said I could go to Monash specialist to have another u/s but he said they would just say that its not needed as no other abnormalities were found. My OB is wonderful and did reasure me (after I had a teary).
I am still worried though and I know that is normal for us expectant first time mothers.
I have read that it can be caused by increase calcium - am I having too much calcium???
Can other focus' be developed as my pregnancy goes on? I have read also that its NOT a heard defect, is does NOT change the function of the heart and does NOT cause heart disease.
I have just never heard of this before since being pg and reading everyone's posts on BB. Does anyone have any stories?
I also heard that if other abnormalities were found it could cause DS but there wasn't which is a good thing.
My OB is wonderful and have heard great things about him so I have full trust in him that if he was concerned he would send me to get further tests. I am just worried that other things could go wrong now.
Sorry for long post.
Floss xx
