So for the last month or so, generally after DTD I get really achey and a kind of pressure/throbbing/heavy feeling in my vaginal area. If I lay down it goes away but once I stand up it comes back. Normally after a couple hrs it goes away completely but today we DTD at 9am and Im still feeling quite uncomfortable at 5pm and finding it really hard to be on my feet.. I have done a bit of googling and the reasons I found were more blood flow down there, varicose veins or a sign of early labour... I havent been O'ing during sex so im not sure how much extra blood flow would be going on?? and if its varicose veins wld I see them? I am a bit scared of early labour but I only had my morph scan last week and everything looked great. My ob. is away until the end of Jan and Im a bit hesitant to see a Dr about it because my scan showed nothing that wld suggest early labour and Im not sure what else they could look for? Bub seems happy and never stops moving around.
Has anyone experienced this?? I never want to DTD again because its such a horrible feeling! Maybe we might just have to stick to night times only so I can stay in bed! Thankyou x
Hi Reet! I get it on and off, can't say it's constant / unrelenting over a day but it is there often. I've also been fearing early labour because all day yesterday and last night I had BH, which in itself is normal for me, but also that pre-period heaviness/tightness, which I don't remember with DD. But I suspect it's just my body doing it's prep work and I'd say yours is the same. I had an achy heavy feeling in my pubic/vaginal region all the time with DD.
I wonder if you could have some kind of prolapse that is (for want of a better word) aggravated by dtd. Also no O'ing could mean that the build up during dtd isn't released so may feel odd.
Ladylove- You've made me feel better by saying u had it with DD too... Also the fact that bub is still happy and kicking today after having had that feeling all day yesterday tells me its not related to early labour. Ive felt great today cos we didnt DTD so something just must go on when things are going on down there!
Mildez- Hi! I actually only just treated myself for thrush last week so I dont think thats it. Ive also had thrush a few times pregnant and not pregnant and never felt the feeling before... I think I know the thrush related aching ur talking about... this is a little different...
Frangipani- U cld be onto something with the not Oing thing except that it's not actually any of my bits aching for more... its the whole area and even feels like it goes into the tops of my legs... and is only there when I put pressure on my legs when im standing up... as soon as I sit down i cant feel it. I might suss out the prolapse thing... when we were Dtd I actually said to DH that I felt rubbing on a bit that I havent noticed before.. I had a quick feel but it all felt normal.. Im just beginning to think maybe everything is a bit extra swollen and puffy down there from extra blood flow and the aching is just part of it all. I never got anything like this with DD but I do remember finding it impossible to pee in a cup from about now onwards because everything was so swollen... I actually wrote a thread on it!!
Ill definitely bring it up with my ob. at my appointment in a month and in the meantime I'll only DTD when I can rest for hours afterwards! Thanks again!
It might even be worth seeing your GP and getting a referral to a specialist physio so you could start some strengthening now if you do have a prolapse.
