I'd say bub will be fine, at that stage baby is so small and well protected by the uterus and the surrounds that small falls like that wouldn't affect baby.

That being said, I know how scary it is not to feel baby and I highly doubt you will get baby to move for you by eating anything at that gestation. My advice if you're really worried to see your GP (most GP's wont do heartbeat checks until after 20 weeks as it can be very difficult to get and just make Mum worry more if no luck), or go to the hospital where you will be having baby and ask them to get bub's hb on a doppler (call first to make sure its not super busy and its OK for you to go at that gestation).

    Best of luck

    Cheers,

Bubs will be fine, but my advice is to buy a doppler from ebay. Very reassuring to hear that heartbeat whnever you want!

Bubs will be fine. My SIL fell flat on her face further on during pregnancy and all was OK. There is nothing you can do to feel movements this early.

    hi

Try not to worry, bubs will be fine.
I fell with one pregnancy at 37 weeks onto bump and all was well, with this pregnancy had a really bad fall in the bath at about 10 weeks, straight onto belly and hit it so hard I almost blacked out, but all was well at the next scan a few weeks later.
They are well protected hardy little things!
    Take care,

im pretty sure baby is well procted in there. i skidded on my tummy last month at around 14weeks after being hit by a wave @ the beach and got slammed into the sand. went to see my OB at my 16week appointment and saw that bubba was fine... it was hard at that time too coz it was too early to feel movement.

It's highly unlikely you'd have hurt the baby in your fall.

But obviously you *are* worried. At this stage it's quite possible that your baby's heartbeat could be picked up on a doppler, so if you were to go to your midwife/doctor, they would be able to have a listen for you. (It isn't guaranteed to pick it up, however, and you may want to request a quick scan to be sure.)

While you might have been feeling flutters before your twelve week scan, it's highly unlikely it was the baby moving... but even if it was, the position can make a huge difference and at fourteen weeks you might feel one or two movements but then absolutely nothing.

You know, I really really don't recommend this. Firstly, there have been no longitudinal studies done on frequent exposure to the frequencies emitted by the doppler and for caution's sake I'd keep this kind of thing to a minimum. But secondly, I think it's really healthy for women to settle into their bodies and give them a bit more credit. I know there are tests and checks for everything, but I seriously don't think they make for a happier pregnancy. And at fourteen weeks, even up to twenty weeks, it's likely that an inexperienced user is not going to be able to pick up the heart beat easily, leading to fear and anxiety. And stress *is* a proven risk factor for pregnancy outcomes.

    Best of luck.
