Thumbs down Feeling sorry for myself and "Eggy"

I don't know what I'm hoping to achieve from this thread.
I am just sick of DP not acknowledging this pregnancy at all...
When had the i came out to the lounge room and showed him.
His response.... "Gee it's cold this morning isn't it?" WTH!? We're having another baby and that's all you have to say?
We went to have a dating scan cos my periods had been very irregular the Dr estimated we were about 7weeks 2days. Turned out i was 12 weeks he was just like. "oh ok".
Everytime i ask him about names he bites my head of and/or changes the subject...

Other family is just as bad if not worse.
Nan's response was "You are still fat from the last one! And isn't she still nursing? She'll have to be off that now!" followed by "Better stop after this one hey... They will need a good education. You don't want to be like your mother" (mum has 9 kids ranging in age from 24-18months)
Mum said "Oh ok. Is DP excited?"

My dad and my big sister were the only 2 that said congratulations without a following insult...

Probably just being a big sook. Just want people to at least acknowledge the fact. Hopefully when i have the belly and Dp can feel bub he'll get excited

I would be hurt too. Have you asked dp what it's all about?
Did you discuss trying for another much before your bfp?

Yes i have, he avoids answering. Or he says he is excited/happy and changes the subject. But the way he shuts me down whenever i bring pregnancy up says different. We weren't trying this bubby was a surprise.

Perhaps he is just overwhelmed about having three under four...??? Was it in your plans to have more children? If not, that may be why he is a little ambivalent????

I understand why you are disappointed with his reaction. I would be too (mind you, if I got pregnant, DP would take out a full page ad in the paper. But that is an entirely different situation).

He might change his mind once the little one is born. I hope so

    Take care x

He has always wanted 4 but we were going to wait until DD2 was 2.5 then start trying. So a little earlier than planned but not much i can do...

    Nope, not much at all....

I am sure that, in time, when he's gotten over the initial shock, he will come around.

He is probably just a little scared or overwhelmed.
