    Head measuring small. :(

Went for my 20wk scan yesterday and bubbie was measuring 50th percentile give or take a few for pretty much everything except her beautiful little head.

I have to go back in a mth so they can check her growth rate.

Now my head is full of alll horrible sorts of thoughts. Didn't get much sleep and I can't help but stress about it.

rustygirl you must be so worried. I'm sure if they thought it was really a concern they would do some more tests or something? If it's any help my good friend was told at a couple of scans that the baby was small and that there wasn't much fluid around the baby, she gave birth to a very healthy 8 pound baby girl pretty much right on her due date. I think they tend lean more on the safe side these days so try not to worry and just enjoy yoru pregnancy as much as you can until you are given the all clear.

Hopefully it's something as simple as the rest of her having had a growth spurt and head is next. Thinking of you.

Hi hun, just wanted to let you know my boys were all born with smaller heads compared to the rest of their body. In fact currently DS3 is roughly on the 125% percentile for weight, just over 100th percentile for length and 25th percentile for head. Try not to worry - especially if everything else in your scan looked good. I bet it just means your beautiful girl will have a dainty little head that won't fit a decent sunhat until she's nearly 1 xx

My kids have all had heads that are about 50 percent below the percentile of their height and weight. They just have small heads. Try not to stress too much, hopefully your next scan shows she is developing just right xx

They are most likely just been cautious by rescanning in a few weeks. Both my girls were in the 90th percentile for weight and their heads were in the 10th percentile. Even now their heads are always smaller and a bit behind in their growth spurts but you could not tell without knowing.

Don't forget that it's not an exact science either - the sonographer being even just a mm out in their measurements are going to make a big difference too.

Thank you all so much for the reassurance. I'm in tears reading your lovely words of support.

I have a feeling the mm's are off. My original due date from my LMP was 15th of June but 2 scans changed the date up to the 7th. Plus I put All her measurements in a Online calculator. What I got from that was that she's just a small baby. Plus her head is within the 'Normal' deviation of mm's.

I think I've just taken what the sonographer had said and absolutely freaked!

Hi ladies!! Just thought I'd let you all know the outcome of my follow up scan.

I have great news!!! Our little girl's measurements were great this time!!! She is still small 35th centile (all up) and head 10th centile but her growth was fantastic in the mth since our last scan and the sonographer was lovely and talked me through the measurement's at the end and how they correlated on the growth charts. I can't even begin to tell you all how relieved I am. My husband wasn't worried at all he tells me! lol Anyway I am just so happy! We also got some 4D scans and she is SOOOO beautiful! I bawled my eyes out!
