Im just wandering how everyone in there 2nd trimester is managing with sleep?
I am 16 wks pg and finding it really difficult to sleep. I become paranoid if I role onto my stomach by accident even just for a second. Can this harm the baby?
All the books I have looked at say you should sleep on your left side. Is it ok to sleep on the right side?
at 16 weeks i wouldnt be worried about sleeping positions!! sleep where you like. its later on that you 'should' avoid sleeping on your back, i often wake lying on my back at almost 37 weeks! i also maninly sleep on my RHS
I have actually found the lounge to be more comfortable than the bed (which disgusts DF as we only bought a new bed in December!!)...But if it works I won't knock it! :-)
I sleep which ever side I want to. I know that in about 15 odd weeks, I'm going to be fighting to sleep where I want to. It'll be a tussle with someone else who insists on being awake at 2am.
I have heaps and heaps of nightmares. I did with DS too. Every night I have a nightmare. When I'm not pg, I don't have nightmares. They are usually of me trying to get to DS because our house is on fire - that's not affected by anything this weekend either. I've had the same dream from day dot.
In the 2nd trimester I slept on side and back and any which way with pillows everywhere! We seriously have what DP calls "The Great wall of Pilllows" in our bed!! Lucky its a king bed or there would be no room for DP!
I have noticed 3 times in the last few weeks that I have woken up kind of on my stomach. It freaked me out at first but it wasnt that uncomfortable (mind you my tummy isnt that big). I told my midwife and she said that if something was really wrong, I would naturally wake myself up to move. Same with lying on your back, Your body will normally wake you up if you need to move of it.
Forgot to say, everytime I saw the title of this thread pop up, I would always say the answer in my head which was 'crap'! as I have since become nocturnal!

Thanks for asking this question, childondway. I have been worrying about the same. I try to sleep on the LHS but usually wake up on my back or tum. Hasn't been uncomfortable so far, but feeling very guilty!
