I was able to feed DS but not DD.. so i am hoping not another premie baby here I cant feed..
didispunk - Wouldn't you be able to express milk?
Nope wasnt able with DD being premie.. my body produced NO MILK AT ALL.. and I tried,
Medication ( they trippled the dose)
Accupuncture
Accupressure
Meditation
Feeding her every 2 hours around the clock for 5 days.
I TRIED IT ALL
Hired lac consultant, YOU NAME IT I DID IT.
BUT with DS i was a jersey cow!
lol at the jersey cow! well every pregnancy/baby is different, so fingers crossed breast feeding is an option!
I was a little overweight when I conceived DD1 so didn't put on too much - 8kg in total. Lost all that plus an extra 5kg within a week.
This time I started around 8kg lower than last time and have put on less than a kilo so far which I'm pretty happy with because I have a dodgy pelvis and basically can't walk let alone exercise. But because I can't exercise, I don't need to eat very much.
Am expecting my weight gain to be around 8kg so the same as last time. Am hoping it falls off after the birth again like last time too - though I know it was mostly fluid last time as my ankles were the size of an elephant's.
This pg I've already put on about 13kg at 20 weeks already!
1st preg went from 65kg's to 85kg's at 40 + weeks
2nd preg went from 70 kg's to 90kgs at 40 + weeks
and now from 72kgs to 85 kg's and only at nearly 21 weeks :0
Looking like hitting the 100 kg mark if I'm not careful! Lucky I'm quite tall, so it's not too bad.
I figure this is the last bub, so I may as well enjoy it!![]()
Oh what a relief reading all of these replies.
I got "a look" from the midwife when I was checked up at the hospital at 18 weeks - I was 88 kilos, had gained 5. I told her that I was 5 kilos over what I'd prefer when we conceived, I think that's why she gave me a look. She also recommended I see the hospital dietician. Not nice when I was already feeling down about my body image, as my clothes were really starting to not fit properly and this is my first pregnancy so I'm just getting used to all of the changes.
I know that the midwife was actually trying to be kind - she knew that I was above my ideal weight to start with and had gained a bit already, so was giving me ways of looking after myself and minimising the weight gain - I guess I was being a bit sensitive about it.
It's such a relief reading all the different weight gains that people have had - I now feel normal. Thanks ladies.![]()
Ok was reading a prego newsletter, says i should have put on 6-8kg so far and i haev put on 10... so.. I guess i am not tooo tooo too far off.
hey didispunk, don't stress! We're all different. I've read that it's quite common for smaller women to put on higher amounts of weight and women who are already large are likely to gain less. We're all unique. You get mamma's who gain 30 kilo's and mumma's who gain nothing. A healthy bubba and mumma is all that matters in the end
I put on 12 kilo's all up with DD and this time I've put on 2 kilo's so far (at 20 weeks). Bearing in mind though that I am on the chunkier side already so don't need to gain any more bodyfat IYKWIM.
Relax and enjoy your pregnancy![]()
With ds I put on 27kgThis pg I've put on 10kg, much more managable but I started a bit heavier as well....
I ordered an omlette for breakfast at a coffee shop this morning, commented how large it was when it came out and the waitress looked at me and replied "well, a big girl like you should be able to finish it"!!!![]()
Yup! If I hadn't been so damn hungry and happy to finally be out by myself for the first time in forever I probably would have said something!!!![]()
Now that I have bronchitis I have lost 4kg... i would rather not loose it that way!
Oh I would LOVE D cup boobs again, mine are up to F cup now![]()
