I'm a SAHM atm, but when I was pregnant with ds I went on maternity leave at 24 weeks. I was sick a lot and my job was very physically and emotionally demanding.
On the upside, it gave me plenty of time to nest, rest, read books and walk (a kilometre a day ) On the down side, the nesting drove my dh insane, there are only so many books you can read, having a clean house became an obsession that was really difficult to break after the birth, I lost contact with a lot of friends from work, I was lonely, bored and absolutley stir crazy by about 34 weeks.
Stay at work for those extra few weeks. They'll go much quicker being at work than being at home. and like Bath said, enjoy the serenity of your office, having time to yourself- it will pass too quickly. By the time bub is about 4 weeks old, work will seem like some kind of fantasy oasis.
