    Just a few questions!! :)

    1. What foods are REALLY bad to eat when pregnant, i have heard lots of weird ones and im sure some of these things cant be that bad... im just eating whatever my body wants, some things are yuk so im not eating them...
    2. What % of ultrasounds are wrong on the sex of your baby? i find out in 2 weeks and it will be very annoying if they are wrong after i have bought everything and i dont like yellows and greens lol...
    3. Whats the average size for a baby to be when he/she comes out? i have been reading some articles ect and they say to get more 000 that 0000 or 00000 ? babies of friends i have known have been in 00000 for about 2 weeks and they wernt very small (7-8lb) then in 0000 for about 2-3 months ect... i dont want to buy lots of 000 clothes if they wont be wearing it for 3 months and it will be the wrong season by the time they fit into it! got a few 00000 that a friend has given me cuz some babies dont even start at 00000 right?

WELL sorri about the long detailed questions lol !!
    thanks in advance

    1. I eat whatever i want... but try to avoid soft serve ice creams, soft cheeses, deli meats and food thats not steaming hot!!

    2. I was told 90% certain wat sex my bub is at my 19 weeks scan....and then at 23 weeks the sonographer said she is 100% sure.... but of course.. they can be wrong from time to time.. but not sure on the %.

    3. My DD was a 000 born (7lb 4 oz) and stayed in this til at least 6 months old. I only had two 0000 items for her.. and glad i never bought more....would have been a waste.

    Hi Jess,
about bd foods you can google listeria and find out what foods can be unsafe.. if thats wht you meant?
Not sure about how many ultrasounds are wrong but I think the person doing the ultrasound would be able to say something like "i'm 90% sure its a girl" or whatever..
My daughter was in a size 00000 when she was born and wore this size for a few weeks. When I asked in the baby shop they told me to get 000 for a newborn, but that would have been massive on her as she is only now in 000 at almost 6 months. So I guess 0000 would usully fit a newborn too.

    hope that helps?

    1. Avoid food not properly cooked or hot. Esp, eggs in meringue, mayo’s, cookie dough’s etc.
    2. Look for yourself, when they say boy ask to see where, if they say girl ask how they know. Its usually obvious if its a boy. Most radiographers don’t mind the extra questions.
    3. What are you and the daddy like? Were you big babies? My DD was 7.13 and fit into a 00000 (5x0) til she was 4 weeks old. I was a small baby and so was my hubby. Have a nice going out set but mostly around the house try borrowing from friends or buy second hand as they don’t fit into them long. Eventually they make great dolls clothes though.
    Good Luck with bub

Jess, just to be different, Jack was 7pd8oz and went straight into 000. Then Tom was 4 weeks early and 6pd 8oz so needed 00000 but we borrowed these from a friend who had had a very premmie baby. So you might not need anything smaller than 000. Maybe just stick with what you have borrowed and see what happens. If you do end up needing more small ones, I'm sure a family member or friend will pop out and pick you up some.

My little bubba was only a little guy and was in mostly 0000 at first. I think I had a few 00000?? It's hard to remember without going and checking. I had to actually go and buy some cos I'd worked on 000 as well...lol. So it might be handy to just buy a couple of 0000 things and more after if you need them. He's now outgrown 000 and into 00 and he's just shy of 5 months. I've been buying size 0 now for him to grow in to. One thing I will say though is it does depend on the makes to the sizes which fit bubs!! With bonds wondersuits I found (and most ppl I've spoken to say the same thing) that you need the next size up from what they're in ... so if bubs is in 000 in most other brands then the 00 in the wondersuits.

    hi Jess,

Foods it is good to stay away from anything that carries an extra risk of food poisoning esp listeria (deli meats, pre-prepared salads, soft cheese - camberet, etc)

We were given 60% girl at our 19wk scn (which isn't that good as it's 50/50 anyway right) My OB did scans at every appointment and at 26wk he said he thought it was a girl but would say with certainty. By 31 or 34wks you could see clearly it was a girl and I was ready to go out and buy some pink stuff.

Clothes - my son was born 7lB at 4wks early and went into 00000. I think he was in them for maybe 6wks before he worked his way into 000 by 2mths. My dd on the other hand was 8lb 12 and wore 0000 for about a week. She was in 000 until 2mth, 00 until 4 mth and now in 0/1 at 5mths. We didn't buy a lot of clothes before hand as we didn't know what size and temp it would be which was great as then I could go shopping with her and her daddy had lots of fun shopping with her as well.

    we had:
    going home outfit 0000
    going homw outfit 000
(just a note, if you are going to have them in a dress for going home don't pick one with spagetti straps as skinny newborns look a bit out of place in spagetti straps)
short sleved all in ones 000 (x5)
    singlets 000 (x5)
3 rompers short sleved in 0000 and 000

We knew we would have a few days while she was in hossy to get smaller things if needed.

    All the best!

Hey Jess both my kids were 6 pounders full term and went in 0000 (4x0) but as I didn't find out the sex of the babies I only bought a few unisex 0000 and when baby was born DH bought outfits while I was in hospital. I found I didn't need anything really anyway as they live in singlets and nappy and wrap while in hospital.

Blurry vision CAN be a sign of high blood pressure which you should get checked out even if you can't get to your midwife you could see a GP.... Could be all that ebaying too

Hi Jess, the hormaones from pregnancy can affect the accuracy of your vision, in fact my optomitrist knew I was pg before my DH did. I went for an eye test the day after I took the HPT and after doing the eye test she asked if I was pg as there was such a huge diff in my vision from last time. It can remain until after weaning.

It can also be a sign of BP as Tiff said.

Hi there Jess, congrats on your pregnancy! Sounds like you have everything sorted already, but thought I'd drop in anyway About the clothes, Natalie was given lots of gifts, and received lots of hand-me-downs... I found I didn't need to buy anything for months!!! (So if you have a large family don't forget that people are very generous ) I'm glad I didn't buy any clothes for those early days because all the outfits she owns still look brand new.
When my BP was high, they asked if I was experiencing blurry vision as that's a symptom of pre-eclampsia. But if your BP is fine then its probably just as you say - computer eyes! Also, I found myself more tired than I'd ever been when I was pg, so you may have tired eyes too.
Look after yourself and all the best

when I found out I was pregnant I was having heaps of trouble with my contact lenses they were slipping around and I was having trouble focussing, I had the same with my other 2 but it only lasted a week or so for me. But it is weird how pregnancy does strange things to your eye's, nose, hips, hair, skin ........ LOL oh boy!

    Hi Jess
i bought 0000 and 000 for my first son and he was born at 6lb8ozs and needed 00000 but my second son was 5lb2ozs and needed 000000 for about a month and needed 00000 for 3 months and now he wears 00 in nearly all outfits and he is nearly one! It depends on the size of the baby and the way he/she develops.
Good luck and will keep tabs on your progress.

I remembering reading in a post a while back that you should get mostly 000 - because you can always send DH/DP/Mum to buy 0000 stuff while you are in hospital if necessary (or you could put some on layby if you don't trust them to choose it - then they can just go pick up the layby if you need it, or cancel it if not).

Hey, with DS it was quite obvious in the ultrasound you could see the bits. With DD I got told at most of my ultrasounds that they were 70% it's a girl and she was. a couple even explained about seeing 3 lines and all the rest.
As for sizing... Both my kids went straight into 000 DS 8lb5 DD 8lb10. DD was only in 000 for about a months as she was quite long. Personally I wouldn't buy too many 0000 incase bubs is too big and if they're not too big you can always go get a couple more once bubs is born.

Goodluck with your ultrasound and I hope you get to see what your having.

    Ellie
