    Difficulty Breathing

Not sure if this is pregnancy related, given that at 20weeks I am thinking it is too early for everything to be pushed up and compressing my diaphragm, but there are times when I am seriously struggling to breathe.
Walking up my parents driveway is torture lately and I have to really concentrate on breathing when I get to the top; but I also get it when I am sitting, laying, cooking dinner, anything. I am watching my posture as I have a bad back so I'm not hunched over. And apart from being exhausted and morning sickness still, I don't feel sick like chest infection etc....
Any ideas, or should I make a trip to the doctor?

if you are struggling to breathe at times then I would definitely suggest you see your GP. It may be just a pregnancy thing but it could also be asthma or some other respiratory issue. No harm in getting checked out.

You should also get your iron checked. I've had very low iron this pregnancy and it has made me breathless.

I was going to say what Bug's Mum said - I had huge difficulties breathing from doing minor activities - it would make me really puffed.

Iron deficiency also left me feeling light headed at times and incredibly tired. I could sleep anywhere and everywhere. I didn't realise what my symptoms were so it got quite bad after a few weeks and I could fall asleep without meaning to. I was meant to be supervising DD1 and I would just fall asleep and not much would wake me. I felt so incredible and energised once I was on iron tablets.

Lol, another who saw the title and thought about low iron. It's got some great symptoms - breathlessness, fatigue, irritability (best excuse for crankiness ever!), dizziness, pale skin, trouble concentrating, brittle nails, wanting to crunch on ice, feeling weak. Good fun!

Definitely worth getting your levels checked, so if it's an issue you can resolve it sooner rather than later.
