is it okay to play netball?

    Hey guys,

When i found out i was pregnant i was playing netball but stopped since i have had a miscarriage last pregnancy in the very early stages...like 3 weeks.

At around 12 weeks my team asked me to fill in please and i decided yes and i will take it very easy. Since then i have played the last 2 games and i played tonight - now 14weeks pregnant.

I feel very guilty for playing and am such a worry wart as want nothing more than a safe pregnancy, but many people have encouraged me to play since its healthy to be active and say it can in no way cause a miscarriage.

I played last night but now the roster has finished so certainly will not be playing anymore.

What are peoples opinions on this?

After the game tonight i would not play as its not worth the worry or the risk - especially since i had someone go out of their way to bump into me which made me very angry and worry.

I think there are rules in netball that you are not allowed to play past a certain point no matter how good you feel.

I played tennis till about 7 months but no elbows to worry about on that court!

I personally wouldn't. It is such a high risk sport for falls, being winded, knocked into, getting overheated and you just would not forgive yourself if something happened.

ETA- Also all those people who said it in no way can cause a miscarriage obviously didnt think about the above which can regularly happen in a netball game and can cause a miscarriage.

Me personally, i wouldn't play. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I did something that hurt my baby.

I don't play netball but do play indoor soccer and wouldn't play a sport with so much contact while being pregnant. JMO

I was told by my Dr as i was playing prior to falling pg i was able to keep playing as long as i felt fit to.

and I played til i was 34 weeks pg.

But if you are already feeling guilty it may be best you dont play
