Pain through pelvis... Should I be worried?

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question for you all.

A bit of background first: I'll be 16wks on monday, it's my 8th pregnancy, but only the second to make it past 8wks. I had a lot of hip/pelvic and lower back problems abd pain with my DS, and it's looking like it's going to be the same or at least very similar this time round pain-wise.

The last couple of days I've been having some really horrible pains go right through my pelvis/cervix area. Tonight it is much worse, I can hardly walk at all without being in pain (I've been doing the "bowling ball between the legs" walk all evening so far).

Anyone have any idea what it could be? I have enough pain and problems to deal with as it is without something else added to the mix, but I'd prefer to have an idea of what is going on right now.

I'm not due to see the midwife again for another 3 weeks either, so there;s not going to be much help from that department right now - plus the consultant's/midwife's office is closed over the weekend and the midwive's on the ward at the hospy don't deal with anyone under 20wks, so I'm basically on my own and relying on you guys right now.

AndI don't want to resort to googling because that will just get me more worked up lol.

All help would be greatly appreciated!

Does it hurt when you get up and walk or is it just random pain when you are sitting down?

Arimeh - It's only pain when I'm standing up and walking, and just discomfort when I'm sitting down.
It's horrible though, had me doubling over in the kitchen before, was like being stabbed in the pelvis. I've never had any pain like this before

And my next question - can you stand on one leg? Like - when you put on your undies?

I can stand on one leg, but can't get my legs to move up high enough, I get this really weird feeling in my hips when I do, so I have to sit down to do it lol

I don't have clicky hips/pelvis though, so it's confusing the heck out of me. And it's rather embarrassing to be doing the penguin waddle already lol

Sounds like SPD. There's a thread on it here:

    https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...-137611-3.html

There's a number of ways to help cope. It's not nice, but it's one of those pregnancy things. Do NOT try to ignore the pain and work through it. It only makes it worse.

FYI - I ended up on crutches the last 2 months of pregnancy and still have left over SPD 11 weeks after birth (I can walk slowly but not normally yet). Some women recover earlier, some later.
