I went to my GP yesterday for a general check up. He did all the norm... measured me, took my BP, weighed me etc. I had a quick glance at the PB monitor in passing, he asked me a few questions about work and life (all of that stuff) but I'm such a chatter box I never asked why all the questions. He then wanted to give me a urine test for Protein to test for pre eclampcia (not too sure on spelling). I mensioned to him my mother had suffered from that when she was pg with my brothers (twins) as well as toxima. Once again I never thought anything of it all when he was asking me how old she was at the time and how far she was. I had gone to the toilet just before going to the Dr so couldn't do the test (I was empty). As I was leaving he told me to take it easy and to come straight back with any problems. (From past experience he know when it comes to baby I do stress out that I maybe be doing the wrong thing or something is wrong. I think most to-be mums are the same)
It wasn't until I came home, rang mum and told her how everything went (as I do every time), told her my PB was 153/70. She said 153 was a bit on the high side and to take it a bit easy as Dr said. After looking at past PB's of mine being around 115/60 - 118/60 I really started to freak out.
Although I know it's not overly high I am still REALLY worried about ending up in hospital for a prolonged period of time or even worse, baby getting distressed or premature birth.
Has anyone else had this??? I am going overboard (as I usually am)???
I know it is a long story to make a simple point but you had to know all the facts. I do appologise!!!
