sharp, short pain when I laugh or cough

Has anyone else noticed sharp pains in their tum when they laugh or cough?

I'm getting this pain that's kind of in the front of my uterus, maybe a bit lower down. It lasts a couple of seconds, and doesn't persist once I stop laughing or whatever.

I guess it's kind of like the sharp twinge you get if you have pulled a muscle in your neck and you turn your head the wrong way and it hurts for a moment. Something like that.

I've noticed this particularly when I've been swimming, not sure if the exercise has something to do with it. It's annoying more than worrying me. I was just wondering if anyone else has this.

    Hi Tenar,

Yes, I am pregnant with my third child and have been experiencing this for a while now. I am about 20 weeks pregnant. I get it when I sneeze too or sometimes even when I am just getting up off the lounge. Also it pretty much seems to be on the right hand side of the uterus, not the left!

    Weird!

this should just be your bodies way of streching its just you ligaments ( sp?) in you uterus getting bigger as your tummy gets bigger....

The more babies you have the more you will notice them...

They should kinda feel like Ov pain...

I have had this too and still do sometimes. My midwife said it is completely normal. Our ligaments are more sensitive as they are stretching and joints are softening. When exercising try not to make to many sharp movements as you dont want to do any damage to your body.

So many weird things happen to our bodies in pregnancy! The things we go through!

I'm getting that too, mostly when I get up too quick or sneeze. Totally normal.

Tell me about it - every time I roll over in bed it's hurting now (this is #6). I am getting lots more abdo muscular and ligament discomfort this time around than ever before, which is odd because with all the cycling I'd been doing beforehand, this was about the fittest I'd ever gone into a pregnancy!

Sigh. Now all I have to look forward to are what afterpains are going to be like after delivering #6. Double sigh.
