    Unhappy Sick

My MIL has been staying with is for the past few weeks, and I think she's passed on one of the many bugs she always seems to have. This last illness she had a really bad cough and was a bit feverish. Last night I started feeling a little bit off and I've got a very slight cough (more of a throat tickle). This is the first time I've been sick (except for m/s) this pregnancy, so I'm kind of worried. What do I do if it turns into a fever? I've heard that fevers aren't good when you're pregnant.
Hopefully I won't get it as bad as my MIL. I just feel a bit icky now, but not feverish.

Oh hun Well It will be ok I have had a very bad flu for a bit over 2weeks now that had temps etc and dr said it will be ok. It's mostly and issue in the first trimester when everything is being formed. Just try the natural things like hot showers to get the steam through your sinuses etc or just put you head of a bucket of hot salty water with a towel over your head. Also panadol is safe but NOT nurofen. Drink plenty of water and cold wet face clothes will help. Just to note some of the herbal cold and flu things aren't safe during pregnancy. Anything you take just check with your midwife/ob/or pharmacist that it's safe during pregnancy and if you are feeling concerned just give your hospital/ob a call and ask their advice or see your local gp

P.s just as a side note I'm currently enjoying a lemon calippo! thanks for the idea lol

I bought a box of lemon calippo's last week and there's only one left! Yum!

I guess I'll just keep an eye on my temperature and if it gets too high I'll give my hospital a call. Thanks.
