    smells making me vomit..

    hi all
i am nearly 14 wks so not quite 2nd tri yet but thought i would ask here as really i want ti know if this will last.
i had ms for a few weeks early on - around 6-10 wks. it has been a lot better lately.
however the last few days strong smells make me start heaving and being sick on occasion. it started when i sprayed some spray and wipe on ds high chair and i threw up a lot more than i ever did with ms... and now when i go to the rubbish bin i am dry wretching. is this normal? how long will it last for??

I still dry retch at some smells at times and I'm 25 wks now. I think that it's possible to last the whole way through as your sense of smell is a lot stronger when pg.

Im still nauseous but smells tip me over the edge. Dont laugh.. but I carry a plastic bag in my handbag or in the baby bag in case I need to throw up when out and not able to find a loo in time. I think it would be more embarrassing vomiting all over the floor that trying to be discreet by vomiting in a bag.
    * just make sure theres no holes in the bag*.

The worst smells for me are the butchers or lennards, which I love but just havent been able to stomach going into the shop to get some.

    Yep me too.

Shopping centre smell, food smell, grocery shopping smell, cleaning smell, dirty smells...everything!

I also have been getting really travel sick...and I don't drive! Vomited in the car (luckily I had plastic bags with me) the other day but I rely so much on public transport. I have been too scared to go anywhere for weeks. I get SO sick on the bus, it's terrible.

If I don't move, don't eat and remain in the house ALL the time...I'm fine.

Unfortulately that is not a very practical option.

I can relate...my constant queasy morning sickness feeling has gone, i feel great most of the time now, but its smells that still get me real bad. The rubbish bin - bad move trying to take it out from the kitchen, sometimes i can't even push the pedal and drop stuff in, just in case i get a whiff of something. My partner watched me take it out the outside bin dry retching the whole time, then kindly suggested that maybe he could do that from now on! Good on him.
Public toilets - dodgy smells everywhere and they're always hot and stuffy yeeeeuuuk.
And i still can't clean my teeth without retching. I have a bad gag reflex anyway, but now its terrible. I feel like i have fuzzy mouth all the time but i have to persevere!
I wonder how much of it starts to happen by association - maybe we just get used to a response to particular stimuli - like pavlov's dogs!! I prefer to go with the enhanced sense of smell theory!

I can't wear perfume anymore cause the smell is too strong for me, even Impulse type body sprays are too much!

Also my partner smokes and the smell never used to bother me and now I make him shower before bed or it makes the bed smell of smoke! Im sure it doesn't really but that's what it seems like!!

Oh and dishes from the previous nights dinner are the worst! Yuk!

my morning sickness has gone now but the things that made me throw up were perfumed smells. Things like shampoo, conditioner, soap, perfume, deodorant and perfumed creams. I forced myself to shower every 2nd day until I came accross unscented soap, deodorant and shampoo. That made my life so much easier - exept still couldnt stand the smell of hubbys deodorant. Love pregnancy!!

My morning sickness has stopped too, but I am bad around smells such as raw meat, and garbage bins. Every wed and thurs morning I pass a) otto bins on the street waiting to be collected (I wish bin night was the same for the entire journey) and b) the garbage truck picking up the bins. I guess it sounds like the smells will continue to be a problem....
