I had lower back pain on the right side last Pg and its stuck with this one as well. Heat packs, warm shower and gentle massage helps a bit!

yeah i had back pain v early on, like 16 weeks, i had some physio, massage and heat packs and it kept it good for a while... it pretty much went away for about 10-12 weeks though sadly it is back now and v bad.... (but more excuse for more massages!!)

With my second pregnancy - it was the backache starting that made me realise I was pregnant. It started at 15 weeks. With my first about 18 weeks.

With this one it started earlier, maybe 14 of so......

With my first pregnancy i didn't have much back ache at all until the last few weeks if i was standing for too long etc. But this pregnancy i have been feeling it a bit in the lower back for a few weeks now. Could have something to do with me lugging a 2yo around all day!!

I've had back pain too. This week I have been trying to go for a long walk each day & that has been helping

I think it would be worth mentioning to your OB or midwife. If the pain is really bad then it could be a sign of a kidney infection or it could just be one of those lovely pregnancy symptoms.

Hope you feel so relief soon.

    Hi Tasha,

I am 21 weeks and a bit and i had such severe back pain on my right side down the back to the bum that i have to now see a physio once a week to relieve the pressure. Maybe that will help. Dont over do it otherwise it will hurt even more - like the time i decided that putting 3 loads of washing out on the line was a great idea - when i hung out heavy flannellete sheets!!! Just look after yourself and a hot shower sometimes is the only alternative to relax you - even though they tell you not to !!!!

i must admit i was quite surprised when i started getting back ache this early on in pg.. but after doing some housework, i think i must have over done it as my back has been sore ever since then..

I would suggest to take it easy and get dh to give you a back rub too..

I had severe back pain from about 14 weeks, but it's gone now which is good. I have read that walking helps a lot.

Yeah, I've been getting it too just on the right side of my lower back. Sometimes I would describe it as more of a sting than an ache as the type of pain changes all the time......... is this the same type of thing you are getting Tasha_84?
