It's not recommended in pregnancy. I've just googled and the research is small.
I understand about the anxiety before appointments. I can recommend mediatation/breathing exercises. I'm also thinking of hypnotherapy. I dont know what's in rescue remedy. That may be ok. Otherwise, call Rodney Whyte at MMC for advice re: StJohns Wort.
Do you think you may be depressed? It's better for a depressed pregnant woman to be on anti-depressants than spiralling down. Along with counselling. SIDS & Kids have meetings for those going through a subsequent pregnancy as well.
I really do understand the meltdowns. Sometimes I just had to set time aside to get through them. Then practising denial. I never got on top of the anxiety, I just tried to manage it. As I said, I'm seriously thinking about hypnotherapy next time.
