    Still feeling sick

    Hi all,

I'm 17.5 weeks and although I thought the MS had cleared up at 16w, here I am feeling very sick again. I know it sounds strange, but I feel as though it's different to the original morning sickness.

I have very little appetite, and what I do seem to be able to get down isn't exactly highly nutritious (chips and gravy, white bread etc). I am taking a pregnancy multivitamin, but I'm paranoid that I'm not giving the baby the nutrients it needs!

Has anyone else experienced this, and did it turn out to be something other than morning sickness (eg low iron etc)? I'm not sure if I should try to move my next midwife appt to earlier, or if I just need to ride this out?

    Thanks in advance!

It could be quite normal, hun. My ms didn't go away til I was 7 months with DD1 & 5/6 months with DD2 & that was constant vomiting.
If you are worried, talk to your MW about it. They can do some tests & just reassure you as well

Baby will take the nutrients it needs from you even if it means leaving you malnourished... So worry less about him/her - the fact that you're taking a multi is great and as for the rest, just eat what you can.

I had bad morning sickness during the first 13 weeks, then it faded to BAD reflux and heart burn which makes me vomit a lot , it scared me too as im worried that the baby is not getting enough nutrients as im the same sometimes all i can eat is toast crackers or hot chips( god they are great lol)

But i think the baby takes the nutrients u take in before they go to you anyway so its u u should be worried about, as im always tired and i believe its coz im not getting enough nutrients as they go to the baby when i take them in.

Make sure u drink lots of water, and juice , i drink mineral water as its good for u and the fizzyness helps with my sickness and heartburn, if i vomit or feel sick the bubbles really help settle my tummy

alos take a multi vitamin that should help you to keep you healthy as well

good luck and if it gets worse pls speak to your DR or midwife as you dont want to get dehydrated its not good for u or bubs

I'm right there with you! I'm 19+ and still sick. I got textbook sickness with my first two, both girls, and the last was also a boy (this is the 4th and a boy) and was sick all the way through. I don't think I make boys well! Haha, or the boys don't let me be well... there's a bad pun in there somewhere, lol.

Just try and eat small things whenever you can, snack a lot, drink a lot, don't neglect yourself! They're little scavangers and are taking everything they need.

I'm exactly the same..... puke at least once a day. And this all started at 11 weeks.

If one more person tells me "oh don't worry, it will go at 12, 13, 14 weeks etc, I'll scream because it just gets worse!!

Hope that it fades soon hun!

I suffered badly with hyperemisis during my pregnancies & was very worried about the babies not getting the nutrients they needed as Ihad nothing in my belly! The doctors kept reassuring me once I had the constant vomitting under control that the main thing is to get plenty of fluids. The baby will take what it needs from you no matter whatyou have or haven't eaten. I was also told to just eat what I felt like , even if it is only hot chips

Trynot to worry too much, I'm sure your bubba is growing nice & healthy

& in regards to when the vomitting should stop.... it doesnt have to. I had hyperemisis up until the day I gave birth with both my babies (& up until the day I lost my first baby) but some woman are lucky enough to avoid it all together!! It's just luck of the draw unfortunately. I do hope your vomitting stops soon for you

Sorry to hear that your still sick. I had HG as well so I totally understand how it feels.

Try to rest as much as you can, theres no knowing how long it will stick around for, but I hope it goes away soon.
