The change in smell could also be related to something you ate. Or drinking less. I know I tend to drink less on the weekend then I do during the week at work. Consequently my urine is more concentrated and smells more. Also certain foods can change the way your wee smells. Antibiotics is perhaps not the best example, but it's the one that I can think of that changes the way your pee smells the most. I hate the way my wee smells when I have taken antibiotics. Asparagus is another really good example. It really makes your pee have a different smell. And coffee, both regular and decaffeinated.
And they may be things you've eaten before and never noticed a difference as well. This could come down to a number of things, but firstly is the fact that you're probably more aware because you are pregnant and taking notice of things you've not taken notice of before. Or secondly often being pregnant can heighten your sense of smell. So it might have changed the smell before, but you didn't smell it until now.
So it could be an infection, and if you're really worried, it's worth getting checked out just for your own peace of mind. But have a think about some of the things you've eaten recently and if any of them might be the culprit.
I found out only this morning that I have a UTI, but had no idea whatsoever. Only came up as I asked for a few other tests so didn't even know it would be looked for. Whilst I'm not pregnant, I just thought I'd mention that yep, you must be able to have a UTI without any pain as that is me at the moment!
