I am a Mumma to a 19 month old heartkid and 34 weeks pregnant with my second heartkid. My DD2 had open heart surgery at 6 days old to repair a VSD and coarctation of the aorta. My belly babe also has coarctation although they believe it is only mild and we are unsure if she will require surgery at birth or a little later, we have our last ultrasound next week before her birth in 3.5 weeks and I am hoping we may get a clearer answer in relation to surgery timing. My DD1 isn't a heartkid but she has a chromosome abnormaltiy and was in hopsital for 3 months and had jaw surgery at 9 weeks old to enable her to breath unassisted, although it is not a heart condition, it was possibly worse (in my eyes) believe it or not.
I am happy to answer an questions you may have. May I ask where-ish you are located?
I will also add that my DD2 is a happy, healthy little girl now, with no restrictions and hitting all milestones incredibly well, you wouldn't know there was ever anything wrong with her unless I mentioned it
