I feel like I haven't slept properly in weeks - I am having dreams of DD being injured every single night and it wakes me up in panic.
Tonight she was rolled onto by a truck - she was trapped under the front wheel and I couldn't get her out!
Last night she was choking on something and turned purple and I had no idea what to do to help her.
It's really freaking me out - it is usually a situation where I don't know what to do next. I'm seriously considering doing a renewal first aid course because the dreams are leaving me so scared each night.
They aren't going to last ALL pregnancy are they???
I had pretty full on dreams when pregnant - normally mine are a little weird anyway - sometimes I couldn't remember the dream but I'd wake up crying uncontrollably. I think they stopped at about 30 weeks for me, right about when I started being completely exhausted and drained by the end of the day.
i had full on dreams when i was pregnant too! a couple of them really stuck with me. in one of them i was in the witness protection program and someone was trying to murder me and in another i was at work and our workplace had a policy of no uniform which meant we all worked naked! it was pretty scary dreaming of work mates in the buff!
from memory tho they lasted the whole pregnancy. fingers crossed you dont get scary ones again!
Mine lasted pretty much the whole pregnancy, they were pretty hideous at times but they do tend to progress during the pregnancy for fear that you are hurting your daughter by having another baby which is very common for early pregnancy, to weird birth dreams and body image dreams (oh the joys). If they are stressing you out then you could try some meditation before you go to sleep, concentrating on the mantra "peaceful sleep, beautiful dreams" as you relax and go to sleep. It should help take the edge off what you are dreaming.
Thanks for the replies - I tried meditating before I went back to sleep because I found I was just replaying it continuously. It seemed to help - unless I just stayed awake until I was exhausted and couldn't dream like that anymore lol.
Thanks ladies - I know they are just dreams but geez they push my buttons alright!
I had really scary dreams that would end in me waking up to the sound of my own voice crying or yelling but for me they only lasted up until part way through the second tri I think. I have not had a single bad dream in my third trimester.
I had really vivid dreams up until about 15-16 weeks and then they stopped... I've just hit 31w and they have started back up again. Nothing horrible, just vivid and memorable... and really, really weird...
Mine lasted the whole pregnancy with DS. Some nights they were horrible nightmares, other nights they were just silly dreams. I found that i usually dreamed early morning after I went back to sleep when hubby left for work.
They have already started for this pregnancy...no nightmares yet thankfully.
