During my 1st pregnancy with DS i didn't have any morning sickness and gained 20kg by the end, at least half of that was in the 1st Tri. Looking back i think i was so excited about being pregnant and use that as a reason to just eat everything After DS was born 10kg came off pretty easily with breastfeeding, but although I tried I couldn't budge the last 10kg.

This time round I had morning sickness until week 10. So at this stage (21weeks) I am still below what I weighed pre-preganancy, I think also running around after a 2YO i just haven't had the time for naughty snacks.

I think my OB's recommendation was up to 12kg's, but that said as long as you are healthy and bub's is healthy that's what counts.

i've also put on 7kg and am 28 weeks.... i feel HUGE. my stomach is enormous and most people think i only have a few weeks to go, when reality is i have 3 months... i am only short so i suppose the baby has nowhere to go except OUTWARDS... i was huge with my first also... i think i put on about 18kg with my first which i think is way excessive... if i could keep it to around 12kg this time i'd be happy, but in reality i'm doing nothing to watch what i eat.... i just know that the more i put on the harder i am going to have to work afterwards to get it off, its not easy, so if you can try everything in moderation.... easier said than done...
i've also just started swimming 3 times a week which hopefully might help.... i am not a swimmer at all but have managed 18 laps and am increasing it by 2 each time.... i suppose its better than nothing.

6kgs at 17 weeks I was hoping it woul dbe less, it is on my butt, my thighs, face and my tummy.. I am bigger in the tummy than i was in other pregnancies (showed much earlier) and this time I have been stressed which equals eating for me.. don't worry too much, now is'nt the time to try to not gain, there will be plenty of time later. Each pregnancy is different, in one I ate loads and did'nt put on a thing until the second trimester, then in the last trim I hardly ate anything and put on loads everytime I seen the doc... most I have put on was 20kgs and alot was fluid!!! Least I put on was 12kgs I figure at the end of this one I will have 20kgs to lose, from this baby and all the extra 1or 2 I did'nt lose from others, good thing they have body transforamtion challenges on here

My OB gave me a brochure put out by The Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and it lists ideals of weight gain as follows, based on your BMI pre-pregnancy.

BMI 18.5 or less (Underweight): 13-18kg weight gain
    BMI 18.5-24.9 (Normal/Healthy): 11-16kg weight gain
BMI 25-29.9 (Overweight): 7-11kg weight gain
BMI 30-34.9 (Obese Class 1): 4-11kg weight gain
BMI 35.0-39.9 (Obese Class 2): 0-4kg weight gain
BMI 40 or more (Obese Class 3): 0kg Weight gain, LOSE up to 4kg

    Hope this helps

I have put on 5 kg and I am 35 weeks pregnant. I had extra weight on so could afford to not put too much on, I have been concious about the amount I have been eating though.

Due to just being pregnant, you will probably feel heavier even if you havnt put on much weight. Dont worry too much.

FWIW, my midwife weighed me at my booking in appointment and hasnt weighed me since. I just dont think its as important as it was once thought to be.
