    When did DH/DP feel bubs?

    Hello All,
Just wondering when your DH/DP felt bubs move for the first time? I can't feel him/her on the outside yet, just the inside, and have felt bub for the last couple of weeks. When should DH be able to feel the movements?

My DH felt this bub move last week (just before 19 weeks), but I was lying on my stomach so he could feel it easier by the pressure. I have felt the bub kick about twice since then on the outside, so I assume he could feel it too if he were there! I think my DH could feel it by around 20 weeks last pregnancy.

I was trying to remember the other day when DH first felt DD move but I can't remember. I was getting some really strong kicks the other night and thought they might be felt from the outside but DH said he couldn't feel them yet. I have an anterior placenta this time too, not sure if that will make a difference.

    Hiya,

I've got an anterior placenta, so I didn't really feel movements until around the 22 week mark, and DP didn't start to feel them until probably 25/26 weeks, but some of that might just have been that everytime he tried things went quiet. Now they're impossible to miss

From memory, it was at about 16 weeks. I can remember it was a huge relief because I'd had a bit of abdominal pain and was convinced that something was up. Anyhow, my partner's a shiftworker so often comes to bed at around 2am (the time when the baby is most likely to be moving) so he kept reassuring me that although I may not have felt anything during the day he was feeling little movements while I was asleep! Then of course I got jealous that he was feeling stuff that I couldn't!

My husband still cant feel it , (his is impatient) and thinks my breathing is a quick.
However he can SEE baby kick if he watches long enough.

As soon as his or mine for that matter hands go onto my belly she stops moving, I guess she doesnt like to be centre of attention.

DH just felt bubs move properly on saturday night i was 22wks & 1day. We were laying in bed and i was on my side and bub was kicking out the side.

Our bub kicks a lot and can be felt on the outside but i think he knows if someone other than his mummy is trying to feel him cos he always stops kicking when someone else is there.

    Take Care,

    Prue

I have an anterior placenta & am only getting strong and obvious kicks now (the last week or 2). DH has felt tiny bits but the bubs seems to stop when he puts his hand there and also i think the placenta is masking the kicks... I cant wait for them to get stronger so he can see and feel them!

My dh felt them move at 20 wks. Lucky him, coz now when the baby moves and he puts his hand on my belly, bub conveniently stops!!

    Congratulations and have fun!!

i think it was about 20 -22 weeks. Somewhere about then. It was frustrating for us, as i couldnt tell if i was feeling movements from the inside and outside, or just the inside IYKWIM?
DH felt bubs move first by resting his cheek on my belly. I dont know why that worked, but, he couldnt feel anything with his hand. Perhaps more sensitive on his cheek. Also good cause then he would talk and blow raspberrries on my tum, and bubs would like that.

DH only felt bubs kick for the first time last night, and I am 27 wks 5 days. I have an anterior placenta and bubs was in the lying low until yesterday so the kicks were low, almost in my pelvis. Almost overnight the kicks are now higher and much stronger so DH felt a really strong one and I keep seeing my belly move as bubs is now up higher under my ribs.

I will let friends and family have a feel now, I wanted him to exprience it with me first, I fet the first kicks around 15 weeks so it has taken a long time for him to feel them.
