I'm 20 weeks and still have no energy! I want it back! I was low in iron but i'm taking iron tabs and don't feel tired anymore. But i just have no energy to get up and do anything. I want to go swimming and do prenatal yoga to help with my sore pelvis but i just don't have the energy to go and do it. With both kids i got my energy back pretty soon after i hit 2nd trimester. But i'm half way through 2nd tri now and still nothing. It's not like the kids are the reason cause they just play by themselves and don't really bother me unless they need food, drink, new nappy etc. What can i do to feel better?
I found that I had it with my first pg, but not the second. I think you only get 2nd tri energy if you don't have other kids to run around after. Pity, it would have been nice!
Antheia, I feel like I'm still waiting for it too!
For me, it was severe anemia. Even though I started to feel better after starting iron tablets, it wasn't enough, which was why I stayed tired. Doubling my iron tablets didn't help at all (levels were still scarily low according to my OB), and it's only now that I'm taking triple the normal dose of iron that we are starting to get somewhere. I've never been great at absorbing iron and my baby is an iron leach! It may be worth getting your iron levels checked again to see if they have come up enough or whether you need more iron like me.
I hope we both find some of this mythical energy soon!
Hi - yes be kind to yourself (I Hear an echo that someone said that to me around the same time .....) with two kids already - you forget how much you actually do. First time you can spend hours relaxing, strolling, indulging really - then with one, let alone two, time is scarce.
Try some acupuncture perhaps for energy and keeping everything flowing and unblocked??? Worked in making me feel more human again ....
Antheia - I was just saying the same thing to a work colleague this morning! I think first time round it's so much easier to reat and take it easy. This time I seem to be absolutely flat out! I know, I need to start saying no to things.
im in the same boat as you , unfortunetly for all of my 4 pregnancies i have been low on energy all the way through. it does make being pregnant more difficult when you feel flat all the time. good luck you may get a boost yet.
I hear ya! I have been so so tired lately..... I'm struggling to stay awake for a 9hr work day.... it just kills me.... I get home and I'm just so stuffed! And I'm eating really well and sleeping 8hrs a night but still it's not enough!!
