    worried about spotting

Just thought i'd put this out there to see what you ladies think.
I am 15.5 weeks and i have had slight spotting 3 times in the same number of weeks. Yesterday though \, I noticed I had passed a small (about .5cm) dark brown clot and with it came a mixture of brown and normal cm. This is my 4th baby and the other three were very text book. I have had no cramping, feeling very slight movement and definately "feel" pregnant still. I have an u/s booked tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else has had this and everything been ok?

It is not unusual to have some slight spotting when pregnant but just to play safe I think that you should rest and take things easy until your scan tomorrow.

Sagistar :hugs: any spotting is bloody scary in pregnancy...
I had intermittent brown loss until about 16 weeks with my DS who is now 6yo. When the placenta begins to take over the function of the pregnancy the hormonal changes that occur can make the cervix a little more prone to bleed. It is wise to have an u/s for reassurance. If there is any bleeding in the uterus this will be detected on u/s.

Please let us know how you go. I will be thinking of you...

I hope it goes well for you at the scan.

I had spotting on and off for the 1st trimester, it still happens if I do lots of bending or lift anything too heavy. So I have to take it fairly easy, gets me out of vacuming , I get my groceries online as the trolley was the biggest problem and I swim as a way of keeping active.

My baby is healthy, at the right growth and is moving around a lot so my ob and Dr are not concerned as I have never had cramping either.

Well the scan went very well, baby is perfect, placenta great, all is looking really good. What they found was a pool of blood/mucus just abouve my cervix but it's no where near the bub. So I am very relieved. Basically she said not much to worry about just have to put up with it from time to time.We also found out we are having a little boy so we are very excited. That will make two of each. Happy Days!!! Thank you for all your replies.

Congratulations Sagistar on our healthy little boy, i'm so glad eveything turned out to be fine and bubs is happy and healthy. I've had bleeding since week 6 and still get the odd bleed now and then, you worry regardless how small or large the amount, i had one istance where it was very "muscas plug like" and scared the heck out of me but all turned out fine. i'm so happy for you!! *hugs*
