Yesterday morning I was being silly (meaning: trying to annoy DF) and I ran and jumped/flopped onto the bed belly first ( stupid I know - I just didn't think!). I felt pressure on my uterus as soon as I landed and it caused pain almost straight away - which I put down to ligament pain. The pain kind of hang around all day and I've felt it a few times today aswell.
Being a Sunday I decided not to do anything about it because my GP was shut and I have my first MW appt at the hospital on Wednesday morning - so I thought as long as the pain didn't get any worse I'd just mention it to them then.
I've just been to the toilet now and when I wiped there was dark brown discharge. Not heaps of it but it's definitely there - I have had 2 other bleeds in this pregnancy and all has been ok - I'm just not sure whether it's time to freak out about this or not.
I am not sure who to go and see if I should get it checked out.
1. My maternity hospital where my appt is Wednesday (im not sure if im actually registered there before my first appt?)
2. my gp tomorrow (good chance I won't get in)
3. my local ER (where they were absolutely useless at reassuring me previously with my bleeds).
Otherwise I can wait until Wednesday and just keep an eye on things?
I'm sure everything is fine! You probably just strained yourself. The blood could be from your cervix, maybe there was a little pressure made when you landed.. if the blood increases and you feel more pain definitely get checked out.
I would head to the hospital.. but thats just me!!! I would rather be sent home and told nothing was wrong than to sit a minute too long and have something be really wrong
When I was about 20 weeks, DH, DD1 and & were playing on our bed. DH went to tickle DD1 and she fell backwards right onto my belly. The pain was really bad for a while but I never got any discharge. The pain hung around for a day or two so I went and got checked, like starbright said I could not stop thinking about it and thought better to just get checked and know. Everything was fine thankfully. By you posting means your worried and that to me is your answer, go get checked. If you want to wait till tomorrow ring your GP, tell them what happened and they might make room for you, if not call your hospitals birth/Maternity ward and talk to someone there. Ease your mind I say.
Thanks so much for the replies - DF is on his way home now and I think the discharge is getting heavier.
I'm going to call my maternity hospital when DF gets home and see what they suggest - if they suggest getting checked out then we'll go in. I just hate the idea of a late night hanging around a waiting room - better to be safe than sorry though!
Oh Ash, I hope everything is OK hun. Pregnancies certainly do cope with a lot, that amniotic sac is a great shock absorber. Bit scary eh. How many weeks are you? I hope you are able to see someone and have your mind put at rest.
I ran into a door belly first when I was pregnant and had alot of pain after that. The midwife said it was an irritated uterus and it settled after a few days. I did not have any discharge so I would certainly head in to see someone. I hope everything is ok, sending lots of love and strength to you x
