1cm Dialated and Cervix soft

Had final Ob appt today and after a not so pleasent internal found out that i am 1cm Dialted and my Cervix is soft. Im due too be induced with the gel tomorrow night at 8pm and than have to head back to hospital by 630am next morning too have waters broken.
So im just wondering - if anyone thinks i may, by some slight chance go into labour before tomorrow night so i dont have too be induced???
Has this happened too anyone else?

YAY thats great news...

My advice would be to have PLENTY of sex... it will help soften the cervix more... Might be uncomfy but may also do teh job... i was told to get on all fours for as long as i could, go for a walk to put more pressure on the cervix...

But i guess if your booked in i'd say RELAX. Bubs wont come if your expecting it to happen... With my DS i was in the same situation and i just accepted that i was being induced and the night before started having contractions i think it was cos i wasnt thinking bout it just having a nice relax at hime before the big day... Also... I had the gel for DD and ist lot of gel workedand bubs was out 2 hours 16 mins later... so if your cervix is soft and your 1cm already maybe it wont take long for the gel to work... on the bright side.. Not long til your going to see your beautiful baby... YAY

There is always a chance at your gestation

Why don't you and DH have a nice romantic night and see if that can help things along

When you said a not so pleasant internal do you know if he did a S&S? That can help get things moving too.

that the waters being broken is enough to get the show on the road for you.

Je$$ and Raven - hahaha seriously the thought of sex is not very appealing at all too me right now! and trust me thats a first! hahaha
Will definatly be going for the walk again tonight - even tho that is going too be just as uncomfortable and most likely slow!!!!
Not sure if OB did a S&S -she didnt say - would she off told me if she did? she did tell me afterwards i may bleed a little and not too worry - does that mean she might off?
she did alot of pressing down on my tummy while doing the internal!
I was thinking the relaxing idea might help - so after the walk im going too try not too think any more about it or about tomorrow and hopefully something will happen - after all it worked when we were trying to fall pregnant!

Sex wasn't appealing to me either but when I was overdue I was able to bear it

I have told DH to brace himself in the next few weeks

Anyways im off for a looooooooong walk - hoping too take the easy way out hehehe

It happened to me. I went in to have the gel and they found me to be 3cms dilated already so sent me home after doing a S&S and the next morning i went into labour.

I hope that same happens for you. Goodluck either way!

God I just shudder at the idea of sex so late in pregnancy. I mean if I want it then yeah sure but I can't just do it to try & get labour started. DH isn't keen on sex once we get past about 35 weeks. He knows it wont harm the baby but he still feels really uncomfortable so I don't push it.
