    28 week scan

I have my 28 week scan today - bit nervous because it's not normal to have one. My ob wanted to check the baby's growth because it was under last time and also have to check the right kidney as it had a slight blockage.

I was so nervous a few weeks ago but now I figure I have grown so much that the baby can't be too small still but you never know. I'm scared that is something wrong with our baby. I read on the ultrasound order thingy that they need to check for FA - I don't know what this is but I am guessing it means fetal abnormality - is this right? That makes me freak even more.

Will let you all know how it goes.

Sorry I don't know what FA stands for but I hope your scan goes well today

    hope it all goes well.

I had a late scan too cause they couldn't see everything at the 20 week one cause of the baby's position..

    Good Luck!

I had a 28 wk scan too as my DS had growth retardation and was very small. This one is actually growing really well.

DS was born at 36 wks and was only 1.6kg (3lb 10pd). The scan put this one at 1.5kg at only 28 weeks!! YAY. Now my OB wants me to have another scan at 34 wks to see if bubs is getting too big!

To avoid the growth retardation again this time I have been put on 100mg of Asprin from before conception. Is that an option for you if bubs is measuring small for dates again?

Let us know how you went...

i know its hard but try not to worry to much, they picked up something with my son in his kidneys and they just kept a check on it, he was delivered by c section at 38 weeks because of the kidney problem but he was breech, unfortunately in his case he did have a kidney problem and had had his left kidney removed, BUT with my little girl who is almost 2 weeks old, they kept check of her kidneys because of him and she is completely fine.

they may just do a few more ultrasounds just to keep check thats all

all the best and i hope everything is good
